It's being reported that newly acquired veteran WR Cooper Kupp has been visiting the vmac daily this off-season and is already putting in the work to get ready for the season. Now of course what player isn't getting into shape, but showing up to the Seahawks training facility everyday right now isn't exactly mandatory. Well, his work effort is starting to rub off on other players, most notably Jake Bobo, who before now, hasn't been one to do so but is following the veterans lead.

Kupp has a massive chip and he absolutely LOVES football. It's very obvious. His leadership is going to help immensely. Leading by example. Just like we got from Jones IV.

If he could have an impact on the offense even remotely similar to that of Jones IV's on the defense, that would be a huge win for the organization.

What was Bobo thinking? He couldn't afford to take time off, could he? Glad that he is now on the right track.

I hope this is the year that he does all the great things those here claim he can do.

Good point on the speed. For someone that you never hear about his speed, he sure gets wide open a lot.

I infer that the hawks did not have a leader like kupp in the room if this is new to bobo
I never considered this - who is/was the leader on the offensive side?????

Any insight appreciated.

Wow coming to think of it Kupp might fill a void there. This is a pretty young offence. In his own way I think Tyler was the leader the last couple of years. More of a lead by example on the field guy. I know what joke is incoming based on my last sentence..... I mean like just going about his business and doing his job.

I agree that Tyler was the only guy to look at for leadership but I wouldn’t call him the leader. Definitely a void there.

I definitely don’t have insight, but my short list would be Tyler, DK, Geno, none of which I think we’re doing the job well if so.
You may not have insight into who was the offensive leader, but you may have insight into why they are all gone.

Lockett was respectable, but also did not display the toughness desired by his coach.

DK was tough, but not respectable.

Geno was a little of both, but I don't think anyone thought he would be here in 2-3 years.

So much like moving on from Bobby -- who was still a good player, but a product of a bygone era -- they got rid of all the 'old' guys to make room for a new leader to step up.

This past season MM went from having captains for the season to having new captains each week. We'll see if he sticks with that this year or if a new guard emerges (Pun intended).

Hawks did not have a real leader on offense, thus the reason the hawks were so up and down all year.

I really doubt he was taking time off. Just becasue Bobo wasn’t lifting and conditioning at the VMAC doesn’t mean he wasn’t at all. My bet was he lost a couple of his “workout bros” with the departure of half the WR position so was just working with a trainer to keep tip top.

Kupp probably took the initiative to invite him in and now they are pushing each other. Really good leadership move by Kupp. I am so damn excitingly nervous to watch Cooper play. My expectations are probably unrealistically high, but he’s a dude you cant help but be excited about.

Lord knows Kupp burned our Seahawks so many times he owes us some payback.
