The bears game is pretty much meaningless

Maybe we should rest our starters and just watch the Rams/Cardinals game

I believe it's meaningless in regards to our playoff chances. If the Rams beat the Cards, we're done anyway. If the Rams lose to the Cards, it's winner-take-all for the division the following week regardless of whether we beat the Bears.

Don't want to go into the final game on three-game losing streak though, especially with the final game snapping the Bears nine-game losing streak.

On the plus side, that situation means we don't have to push any hobbled players back into action, like we might have been tempted to had the game been absolutely necessary to win.

It is meaningless because our only path to the playoffs is the Rams losing their final two games. If we lose to the bears and they lose the Cardinals the final game is for the division but if they beat the Cardinals the Rams clinch the division.

But we don't control our own destiny. If we tie with either the Rams for the division or the Commanders for the last wild card seed, they both own the tiebreaker with us, ie conference W/L percentage. So, our only hope is that the Rams lose to the Cards and we win our last two.

Strangely, that would be a silver lining to losing to the Bears, because I want nothing to do with Green Bay in Seattle again.

Yes, it does matter for getting into the playoffs. We have to beat both the Rams and the Bears in order to have a better conference record. We currently have a 4-6 conference record; the Rams have a 5-5 record. If the Rams lose out, they end with a 5-7 record and if we win out, we'll have a 6-6 record.

You're taking "meaningless" too literally.

No, the game is not absolutely, positively meaningless because there are things to take from it, momentum and whatever. OP is calling it meaningless strictly in the sense of how it factors into the objective formula that decides the division winner.

Yes, you're right, but if we lose to the Bears and the Rams beat the Cards, they'll have a 2-game lead going into the finale.

Bottom line is that the Bears game matters for us getting into the playoffs. It's not meaningless, at least not at this point.
