There were at least three times earlier he could've run for good yards, but held the ball and got sacked or threw it away. I wish he could process just a second faster...
It's not a processing issue. He's a passer. His instinct is never to run. That's a new tool in the toolbox for him. His brain doesn't reach for that tool automatically when a play breaks down. He's not a running back learning pass, he's a QB who can run, learning to run

EPA/play: Expected Points Added per play, how much value the quarterback contributes on each play.

aDoT (average Depth of Target): The average distance downfield of the pass.

CMP% (Completion Percentage): The percentage of passes successfully completed by the quarterback (not including spikes or throwaways).

xCMP% (Expected Completion Percentage): The percentage of passes the quarterback is expected to complete based on the difficulty of the throws.

CPOE (Completion Percentage Over Expected): The difference between actual% and expected%. The higher the better.
Okay, thanks. The only thing I had right off the bat was CMP%, that one is obvious. I'll go back and look again with my new-found knowledge. Who decides what each of those things are besides for CMP%? The rest seem pretty subjective.

For xCMP%? It's a standardized metric based on historical data, using variables like down, distance, receiver separation, ball placement, time remaining, whether they are outside or in a dome, etc., to determine the probability of a completion.

I suppose you could say there is mathematical subjectivity in how the model is built, but in a general sense it's not subjective. In fact, the calculation and application of xCMP% are fundamentally objective. It's not like PFF where someone is grading each play. That's true for every stat in that picture.

Geno ran a 4.5 40, so he's no slouch in the speed department. I don't want him to risk injury, but I'd like to see him pull it down and take what he can get on the ground more often.
