Mixon missed the 2025 season with a serious leg injury. I feel bad for Montgomery. That Texans' offensive line isn't very good.

The Chiefs are always mentioned in connection with running backs, partly because Isiah Pacheco is a free agent (and he wasn't very productive last year). But the Chiefs have salary cap issues and have a lot of needs elsewhere, like offensive line and edge rusher, so it seems unlikely that they would pony up for a running back. It doesn't seem like a Brett Veach/Andy Reid move.

On the other hand, I would look into signing Pacheco. I think he will come relatively cheap, given his last two years. And we could use him, even if we re-sign Walker since we won't have Charbonnet for a while. If Pacheco is over his injuries of the last two years, he could be good in this offense.

I think Pacheco is a little like Chris Carson back in 2018-2019, an aggressive runner with a lot of yards after contact. But those type of guys are prone to getting hurt.

Yeah CC was another run angry, no fear, hard on his body, short shelf life guy. I think those kind of guys need some extra size & weight behind them to hold up a bit longer, even then a loss of speed/burst & they are done.
I don't see how CMC can keep it going much longer, but Pacheco should have some life left depending on his injuries.
I'd like to see John take that kind of RB with size & speed in round, 1 or 2, trade down from #32 type of JS drill and really bolster this run game.
Really sad about Charbs, let's hope he can bounce back and build on his early production.
