Sando is an analyst that sheds light on football in specifics with supporting data. He's also a decent writer.

Blount writes articles for the uninformed... stating or summarizing the obvious. His work is meaningless for most of us here at .NET.

I miss Sando.

The Seahawks are good this year. They scored more points than their opponents 13 times. Richard Sherman is really good. Wilson is short. Lynch did the Beastquake. Harvin will/won't play.

Watch out, that's plagiarism.

Yeah I used to go to Sando's page all the time, kept me up to date on the division too, I don't think I've been back since the preseason though. Too many other quality blogs out there than to waste time reading that.

Sando is the master of obscure stats, too.

"Sunday's game was the third time since 1980 that a punter kicked the ball over 40 yards four times with a fair catch and a penalty on two of the four punts."

That's the biggest loss for me. I liked being able to keep on the NFC West news all in one place. I haven't once checked out the other NFC West team blogs, but I would read their news when it was all in once place.

Here's a summary

1. Seahawks beat down the Saints earlier this year

2. Oh, did you know about the Beastquake?

3. Seattle - good D, NO - good O.

I have yet to hit my NFC West blog tab and not see a Rams article as the first one. Their blogger posts three times as many stories about the Rams and they aren't even playing anymore. I miss Sando and the old comment sections. Had some fun over there for a lot of years.

Sando/4> Blount

Sando was covering the entire division. Living in Seattle probably gave us the bump we liked so much.

ESPN replaced 8 division reporters with 32 team specific reporters. All the local reporters are just gathering whatever crumbs the team chooses to offer them. In defense of all these guys I don't think the team or league make their job very easy at all.

Notice how all the truly 'breaking' news is coming from the national reporters, who aren't under the thumb of Pierson and his minions.

Guys like Blount are just doing their best with what they're given. If it seems like local beat writing is very mechanical, that's because most of it is. Sando worked very hard to offer more background and stats than most other reporters and guess what? He got moved to a national stage --- but remember those types of guys are damn rare.

Yeah he comes up with awesome stuff. He's the one who pointed out that Sherman currently has the highest percentage of interceptions per passes thrown at him of any player in the last 20 years. He's always coming up with interesting stuff.
