I'm ok with us taking it slow in FA, and getting our guys resigned. I just don't get what anyone sees in Taylor??? I don't care how good MM is, I don't see making a solid DE outta Taylor? OMG since the lack of LB on this team, you don't think they will try and convert him to a ILB?? God please no!

Darryl Taylor is trash… his best play for the Hawks was blocking for Diggs INT! He was one of the guys I was hoping would be outta here with Diggs n Adams…

If you don’t remember the play, it was when he came running off the sideline to block for Diggs INT! 🤣

3/24 is a such a head-scratcher for a one trick pony pass-rusher who hasn’t shown any coverage, run defense, and edge setting abilities.

Sacks or not, this feels rather underwhelming use of cap space for a Mac defense that priortizes players to excel in coverage to produce sacks and turnovers.

The only thing I can think of hopefully is he wouldn’t sign his tender and the Seahawks are trying to trade him for something or someone.

To be a one-trick pony, I think you have to be good at that trick.

Only financial terms I've been able to discover were from some rando with 1,500 followers and another one of those cut-and-paste "ironic ego trip, please give me followers" Twitter shticks. Which will no doubt succeed, because that's just how Twitter rolls. Remains to be seen whether the 3 yr $24m part is true.

He was ahead of the Macdonald hiring, but that could have an educated guess. He also predicted Waldron, and before that believed Jamal Adams was a good safety.

Unbelievable about Taylor. A lot of money to pay for a guy ranked 103 out of 112 edge rushers. Is that just the going rate?

MM got JClowney to be productive after he was pretty below-average for the last 4 or 5 years. Maybe he sees the same thing in DTaylor. I think Taylor flashes, but he also disappears, not unlike I remember Clowney. Hope MM has a way to re-do whatever it was that he did with Clowney ('23: 9.5 sacks, 43 tackles). I go back to the LB discussion: I know I know some things and I know I don't know some things. I have to believe that MM knows more about NFL LBs and Edge rushers than me. I wouldn't have taken a chance on Clowney nor would I have on Taylor. So let's hope I'm wrong on Taylor and right on MM. To me, he gets a pass until he doesn't deserve it anymore.

One thing to consider: McDonald had 3 beefy down lineman on the field much of the time. 300+ to a man. They might see Taylor as a third down specialist. Baltimore has been good at using those for what seems like forever.

Not asking Taylor to contain would be a good idea. He absolutely sucks at it. It jumps off of the screen.

Third-down specialists telegraph defensive intentions and are generally only valuable if they're really good at what they do. Which Taylor hasn't been, for years.
