No I just can't get close to calling this year a "bust" if we don't win it all. Don't get me wrong, any poster on here familiar with my posts will be aware I've been very high on this team's chances all year long, but I think the team is incredibly well set-up to challenge for years to come. This team is hugely young. Sure D-Law and Big Cat might be on the downside of their career, but I wouldn't be predicting a big drop off over the next couple of years. You have exciting young rookies who are going to get better with game experience (Rylie, Nick E, Grey to name a few). In addition, Seattle's cap situation is not in a bad place; I take the point you need to resign JSN and Spoon, this will mean decisions will need to be made about players like Mafe for instance. However, this shouldn't mean this squad isn't in a great position to compete in the years upcoming.

One thing that has gone in our favour this year has been that Seattle has been RELATIVELY injury free; and specifically season ending injuries. We could (fingers crossed) get to a position that in the playoffs we have every defensive starter / main role players fit and available [Coby is the one ?] and on the offensive side missing just 1 WR (Horton but maybe he makes a surprising recovery &/or Arroyo) & perhaps 1/2 depth players (White / Holani).

I agree with all of this. From a team lifecycle POV, we're still on the "climb"...but because of this defense, we're technically "in our window" as well. The defense could legitimately carry them to a title, and you HAVE to win the SB when you get the chance (see recent 49ers, Bills, Ravens, etc. who thought it was just a matter of time). That's what makes it extra stressful now.

I think NFC Championship or bust. Just wanna' see how we do against the Whiners and IF we can win a playoff game for starters. Love our chances, we're as much of a contender as any team in the NFC.
