"Russell Wilson is a game manager. He throws sparingly because Pete doesn't want him to."

I really hate the whole we've barely beat the Bucs comments and we were lucky to escape with a win.

Anybody watching that game knows Seahawks gave that game to the Bucs early and realistically it shouldn't even gone into overtime.

Opening drive Seahawks drive down the field only to give up the Red Zone INT.

Dan Quinn was continuing to mess around with pass rush formations on premise that Glennon averaged 40+ passes in his 3 prior games, allowed TB get big chunks of yardage on the ground, control the clock and keep Seattle's O off the field. And when the Seahawks would adjust to the run, TB would attack with the deep field throws, 2 of them for TDs.

Then icing on TBs cake was a Kearse kick-off return fumble, short field, and a jump pass thrown by the RB for another TD.

Down 21-0 Seahawks finally "got real" real fast. Quinn stopped being cute. Russell Wilson got his real serious game face on and made it 21-7 before half-time.

TB managed to only score 3 points after the Seahawks adjusted in about 3 QTRs worth of opportunity including OT.

Seahawks squandered another quality drive in scoring position in the 4th QTR that ended on a awesome goal line INT.

Realistically and easily, this game could have been 35-17 Seahawks.

The Seahawks weren't lucky to win, Tampa Bay was lucky the Seahawks gave them the opportunity to even be in it the first place.

But all SF fans care about is looking at the book cover, and not reading how the story unfolded. Not many teams can overcome 21-0 deficits to win. Only GREAT teams do at this level.

None of it really bothers me too much, but being called out as a bandwagon fan is probably the most insulting. I've lived in the Seattle area my whole life, was born in 78' and started following the hawks by the age of 10. I bleed blue and green so for someone to say I'm a bandwagon fan just because the hawks are doing good this year is ridiculous. You never heard anyone call you that in the early to mid 90's when the team was horrible, people just felt bad for you during those years.

I nearly punched a co worker over this comment once.

I visit other teams forums often to try and get a sense of how their fans think the game will go. If their really obnoxious I will revisit those same forums to see how posters responded to losing / reasons for losing.

The one thing I see in common in almost every case is this classic line " We didn't play well" or something along those lines. That is a pet peeve for me. WE didn't play the game, the TEAM played the game. You, me, them and us didn't play the game and had no direct effect on the outcome. Unless of course you, me, us, them was at the game yelling our arses off making it difficult for the other team to communicate.

Anyhow, the "team didn't show up and or wasn't prepared to play" excuse is just that. Especially when the team gets blasted. The reason the O line / QB / running backs look like crap is mostly because the Hawks secondary smoothers receivers and the Hawks have a great rotation of D line pass rushers. Not to mention solid defensive schemes that play to the strengths of the players.

Same goes for the Hawks offense. Not saying they are as dominate as the defense but they have several playmakers.

When the Hawks lose it's because of the same reasons. Other teams match up well with our offense. Niners and Carolina come to mind. Their D is equal to our O when playing away games. At home, the D is overwhelming. Teams get behind early and are forced to pass, which happens to fit right in to the strength of the team.

Long story short, fans saying " we just didn't play well" annoys me.

Nothing any other fanbase says annoys me more than all the posts I've seen ripping Harvin for suffering the first serious injury in his career. He gets nicked up a lot, sure, so he's labelled injury-prone, I get it. He's never dealt with anything like he's dealing with now where there's a serious rehab involved, and yet the fans want his head for not really contributing up to this point in the first year of a 6 year deal. Have some perspective.

On the opposing fanbase note, I always get a good laugh when all they can attack is the PED/Pete the Cheat stuff. Somehow its magnified here in Seattle.

To the contrary, I am annoyed when people are annoyed by people saying WE. It's something you take on arbitrarily when you love and support a team. It's extremely nit-picky and literal to get upset over this, in my opinion. "We" went to the Super Bowl in 2005 implies to me that you were on board, in support of the team the whole way, not that you were in locker room and field for the game.

It's kind of normal for fans to say "we" when they're emotionally (and possibly financially) invested in a team.
