Stroud looked like a special player. Jalen Carter did not.

Not a fan of Strouds body language. Getting Kyler Murray vibes. Other than that, he looked really good

Sorry but two qb’s with your top 2 top 12 picks is, how do I say it… ridiculous!
seabowl why are you still ghosting!?

If they pick a QB at #3, who would you pick at #12 over Richardson/Levis with guys who could realistically be available? I'm curious!

It’s also possible if Stroud is available when the Bears pick Poles will select him and trade Field’s for a 1st rd pick. Stroud is a huge upgrade and fits better with what Eberflus wants to do offensively

There is still the Championship game I am expecting Carter to be motivated especially how the internet is talking about him and the Ohio State O line made him a non factor
I hope there is zero chance that happens. Fields will be a star in this league if Poles gets him a better offensive line and at least two receivers who can run routes and catch the damn ball. Until that happens, it doesn’t matter much who plays QB.

Stroud 6’2” 215
Young 6’0” 195

The knock on Stroud was he didn’t use his mobility much to extend plays but given time is very accurate. It was only one game, but he showed he can do it on a big stage. I could see him being the top pick.

Young’s size is my only real concern, but he’s been great since he came back from his shoulder injury.

If they sign Geno before the draft, it may reduce the chance of using the Denver pick for a QB, but if they franchise him, I think we’ll take one.

Florida and loving GOP country!
Bryce Young still looks like the best of the bunch (right now), but handing the keys over long-term to another midget doesn't thrill me.
I want a QB who can throw over the middle and utilize the whole field. Geno has been a breath of fresh air, and if we can improve on his play with another QB to take the next step then we need to do it.

Verse, Simpson, Tyree Wilson, Bresee, Porter, Ringo to name a few. If they wanted to double up, they could go after one they like that may have slipped into the 3rd or 4th round (McKee, Rattler, Nix, Cunningham, Hall, Hooker, etc.). If we take a QB with 1A, we have to go defense for at least 3 of the next 4 picks.

I don’t know that we could afford Hargrove as a FA, but maybe Payne or Ngakoue?

I think PC already likes the CBs he's got with Woolen, Tre Brown and Bryant. Picking another one over a QB prospect with Allen/Mahomes potential like Richardson/Levis?

Outside of Tyree Wilson, apparently you can find pass rush prospects in the 2nd with as much potential as those other guys. They're saying pass rush talent is deep in this class, but nothing really special outside of the top few.. If Wilson actually falls as far as #12, then sure, make the pick if you already have Stroud or Young 3rd overall.

There's been 80+ QBs taken past round 2 since 2012, and the only guys worth mentioning are Wilson (2012), Cousins (2012), Foles (2012), and Dak (2016). You think they'll get lucky there? Maybe.

Lots of front 7 talent in free agency like Javon Hargrave, Roquan Smith, Davenport, Ngakoue ect ect as well. The draft isn't the only way to fill those needs.

@BASF give some names of who you'd draft over Richardson/Levis if they're available at #12 for future shaming

We already know you'd pick Carter over Stroud at #3

It is your scenario that is laughable. It does not matter who I would pick. Double dipping quarterbacks in the first round is your scenario. This teams problem is defense and you want to waste a second first round pick on the same position as the first. Sure, quarterback is the most important position in sports, but no one in the history of the NFL has expended more than a first and fourth rounder in the same draft for a QB. They only looked decent doing it because the first rounder was driven into the ground by his playing style and a coach that didn't seem to care about his injuries.

It is also laughable that you believe we can afford any of the free agents on your list with the teams upcoming problem of functional cap space for next season. We have twenty players we will need to sign to fill out the fifty-three man roster as only thirty-three are under contract. With only $53.8M dollars currently available for the cap, that is a lot of players who will be getting less than the vet minimum (i.e. draft picks) to play for us especially considering we have only one inside linebacker signed for next season, and only two defensive ends that can play the large defensive end role that Hurtt (please may he be fired) wants to utilize, and only one defensive tackle when the soon to be 37 year old Al Woods retires. That is not even mentioning that we will more than likely cut both of those aforementioned defensive ends to get some cap relief and that when we cut Diggs (big cap relief) we will be down to only two safeties under contract. When was the last season that we actually had two safeties healthy for all sixteen (now seventeen games)? I certainly can't remember.

Your scenario is not only far fetched, it is illogical.

The edge from Army is a freak also. Imagine drafting Carter and Carter with our first 2.

While I wouldn't do it, it has been mentioned by people around the league as a viable idea because the position is so valuable and the future capitol you can gain when trading the other guy down the road is much higher than the initial cost. It's just so different than the norm that teams probably aren't going to try it. Washington did it to a lesser extent with RG3 and Cousins.
