Was my exact, EXACT (word for word) thought.Dude has some hops!![]()
My hope and feeling is, that DW is going to spark a bit of a new fire.Freakish athlete like Woolen but Spoon hits a lot harder
I know we all hate Jalen Ramsey, but it's the only accurate comparable. Spoon's a dog, and we're going to love him.
This is the kind of instinct of a year 2 or 3 in the NFL player has, not in college.
That tape shows me more than just good instincts.
I believe it also shows that he was coached well AND has the intelligence to retain and use what he’s learned.
As was pointed out, he lined up perfectly, many times on all teams we see defenders get taken out of a play because they got caught up in “the wash”.
I’m super stoked, and looking forward to seeing him evolve as a Pro.
AgreedMost DB's, even in the NFL with this play would probably recognize the motion and their assignment too late, and MAYBE make the play at the LOS at best, and at worst not catch up before it's too late.......resulting in a TD. I know we've see that far too many times here.
Not only does Witherspoon diagnose the motion early, but he attacks it without fear of missing and giving up the TD.
That's the rare part, instincts + no fear/aggressiveness. Too often, especially in DB's they play to not get beat, as opposed to playing to make the play.
Last time I got that high up off the ground, it cost me $420, I had to sit through oxygen mask/barf bag training, and I landed in a whole 'nother city.
And the closing speed to execute as well...Most DB's, even in the NFL with this play would probably recognize the motion and their assignment too late, and MAYBE make the play at the LOS at best, and at worst not catch up before it's too late.......resulting in a TD.
