So, what does our OL look like now?

I dont think this upgrade will make any difference blocking for a qb that runs wild all over. It's impossible to block efficiently for a qb that runs east/west.

Not sure if trolling, but if Watson or Rodgers can have a good O-line, so can Russell

Going w/ trolling

I guess it won't be long till next Sunday where we see if i am trolling or suddenly we have a conventional pocket qb in Wilson.

I am telling you right now, if it's Brown or Walter Jones, it's just not possible to block effectively for a guy that runs side to side rather than up into the pocket.

And by the way, i guess you hadn't seen Rodgers oline this year. He would have drooled for our line than his!

I'm sorry but this is not a reasonable opinion

First, he's new to the team. It may take a couple of games to get fully adjusted to our style

Second, my point was that Watson runs around, Aaron Rodgers runs around. Carson Wentz runs around. Why you decided to single out Russell Wilson(your QB..I think) as somehow the ONLY Qb that runs around, as if advanced stats hasn't PROVEN the O-line is poor, is absurd. I simply don't get the negativity. Constructive criticism is one thing, but what possessed you to make that kind of comment as if a mobile QB with a great O-line(Aaron Rodgers, Carson Wentz, etc.) is unheard of?? Btw, I make it a habit to watch games around the league, so I've seen Packers games. His line is solid, and has been great before. Didn't stop him from running around

And why are you pretending as if Russell isn't pressured the most under 3 seconds, forcing him to run or see ghosts? I simply don't get the lack of fairness and reason. It's mind boggling, honestly

That is about as sad as it comes.

Just another "too short" fan of some team, who knows which.

If I hated the best / most important player on "my team" that much, I'd have to change teams. Wilson is not going anywhere, they just inked that (if you weren't certain) by raising his cap hit down the road.

The only thing Rodgers will be drooling on the next 6 weeks is his own pillow.

Ehhhh...they don't run around like Russell Wilson does. Rodgers has pocket presence. Wilson looks like a ferret that's just been force-fed pepper spray.

I don't think he's pretending that - some of Wilson's pressures AREN'T under 3 seconds. The 2.5-3 second mark is easy to miss when you're watching the game and a lot of plays are designed for even less time. You also have to remember that when Wilson gets pressured immediately by a free rusher, it was usually a bad protection call, which can also be on Wilson (though it can also be on the center or a RB).

North might have engaged in a bit of hyperbole in saying he's impossible to block for, but I agree that he is difficult to block for. His tackles never know where he'll be and constantly have to improvise. I'd guess a good solid 50% of Wilson's sacks are probably on him (and heck, for most QBs, it's 30% or something like that).

RG needs to be addressed ASAP

When Joeckel comes back, I think Pocic will be at RG.
Joekel should play at RT to be honest.

Joeckel should be cut. Not sure why people think he was playing well. I didn't see it. That being said, I would take him over Ifedi. So in the end I agree with you.

Ifedi is having a surprisingly good season in pass pro - he hasn't given up a sack and has only allowed one hit on the QB (per PFF). He needs to get the penalties under control though.

Yeah, saw this referenced by Nemhauser. Zero sacks. One pressure in 280 pass plays. Tied for tops in the league with Joe Thomas. Not bad for a guy with under 20 starts to his credit.

Penalties -- honestly Pete doesn't care about them. I mean he cares about them. But not as much as your average driver cares about checking their oil levels. They are a complete afterthought and he makes absolutely zero attempt to get them under control. In fact, I think he actually likes for his players to experiment with the cheating threshold. And you can see this when he talks about penalties. He is always looking for the explanation that details where that line is. Pete absolutely wants to cheat as much as is permitted. Which is smart.

I really don't think Ifedi has been given proper credit for this season. I was a blistering critic of his selection. And last year he did suck at an elite level. But this year he's been better than average. At a more valuable position. I'm not going to invent low impact critiques of his play to force a false narrative of how he's progressed this year.

I'm genuinely pleased with how he's performing and have higher hopes for his continued development than I did at the start of the season. He gives us that Giacomini edge that this group has been missing for some time.

When asking Russ or Bevell how the offense can improve now, will anyone ask "what can Brown do for you?"

Sorry, I couldn't help it.

I wouldn't mess with the continuity at this juncture.

Stick with the 5 guys that will start on Sunday, and let them gel for the playoff run. They have 9 more games to form some chemistry.

LT Brown - LG Pocic - C Britt - RG Aboushi - RT Ifedi

Active Reserves
G - Joeckel (Glow I guess in the short term.)
T - Tobin

2018 is really exciting as they should return 4 of 5 starters. With backups that will have been on the team for 3 & 4 years, also that have started games in the past. Glow, Rees, & Fant.

LT Brown - LG Pocic - C Britt - RG Roos - RT Ifedi

Active Reserves
T - Fant
G - Glow

Roos is red-shirting this year, but I expect him to make a hard run at the RG spot come next training camp.
