He's a groove guy, he will get on a streak and be great for a long while, then suffer a series of games till his form is corrected, he also has a heavy drift or hook with his kicks which seems to add to the problem.
This season so far, he's in the bottom tier:I'm not a big Meyers fan. I'm all for finding someone better. That's the thing, though, finding someone better. Stat-wise, he's not a bad kicker, kind of a middle-of-the-pack place kicker, actually. I have no data to back this up, but it sure seems like his misses are more significant when they happen.

This…100%I'm not a big Meyers fan. I'm all for finding someone better. That's the thing, though, finding someone better. Meyers always makes me nervous. I know, I know, I know...fans usually get nervous when the spotlight is on the place kicker during a game. But here's why he does so for me, and it's something my friends and I laughed in agreement about while watching the last game together. Even when he makes his kicks, all too often they're not drilled through the middle of the uprights, end-over-end. Much of the time they're hooking and have a squirrely wobble to them, and I find myself leaning on the couch hoping they'll make it through. Sometimes I don't even know if he's made it until the refs raise their arms. I'm sure others feel the same way about him. LOL
Anyway...
In a game that just so happened to be a game where our D basically never showed up (due to bad performance and injuries).Myers is who he's always been. A very inconsistent kicker. One day he'll hit a 60 yard FG and the next he'll miss a 30 yarder. Last Sunday it just happened to be a 40 yard attempt he missed.
Still not sure what the hell happened. Our defense showed up until just over two minutes left in the first half.
Unfortunately, so did theirs.
It was six nothing, on two field goals, before that.
Doesn't mean you shouldn't try. I mean, the 9ers just got rid of Moody in-season, and somehow found a kicker who is currently making all of his kicks?Because finding kickers that make every single kick is easy?
Yeah but he sucked even worse than MyersDoesn't mean you shouldn't try. I mean, the 9ers just got rid of Moody in-season, and somehow found a kicker who is currently making all of his kicks?
Yes but that's not the point. Point is their GM was able to find another kicker to replace him.Yeah but he sucked even worse than Myers

Norm Johnson and John Kasay were machinesI don’t think the Seahawks have ever had a kicker that had me stress free during a kick. Every kicker misses. Kicks can be blocked. A whole lot of shit can happen on any kick. He has an over 85% success rate.
In the 1970s and 1980s, leading kickers typically converted around 70–75% of attempts. By the late 1990s through the 2000s, kickers' accuracy increased to around 80–85%. From the 2010s to 2020s, many of the league's most accurate kickers regularly hit the high 80% with some exceeding 90%.
Could he be better? Sure. But it looks like he is about as successful and accurate as you could ask of the job.
Who also missed kicks.Norm Johnson and John Kasay were machines
Norm Johnson has a career 76% success rate on field goals. Kasey has an 81.9% success rate. Both are behind Meyers.Norm Johnson and John Kasay were machines
After first missing a kick at Arizona, allowing them great field position at the 43-yard line, which led to an AZ touchdown.Still made a huge game winner at Arizona.
