In baseball, who's the next batter up? The next hole on the golf course? Next man up when a starter goes down on the football team? "Next" means the first one yet to come. Tuesday's not here yet.
Next Tuesday is the next one we will see, and it starts in our time zone in less than two hours. 8)
Gonna have to go with Outfield on this one. When speaking in terms of days of the week, the day upcoming is This "day" whichever day that may be and the one that goes into the following week is Next "day". So tomorrow is THIS WEDNESDAY and November 13 is NEXT WEDNESDAY. The proper way to say it is This coming Wednesday, but people have a tendency to be lazy when speaking and just say this wednesday. Next when referring to a day of the week should always infer the following week, but it's gotten so out of whack, that you basically have to ask a person which next they mean because it's almost 50/50 now on what they actually mean.
To get back to topic, Harvin has always had until the Vikings game to come back. No matter what you see, read or hear, we don't HAVE to activate him until after the Falcons game.
