No, "This Tuesday" is tomorrow. "Next Tuesday" is the 12th.

In baseball, who's the next batter up? The next hole on the golf course? Next man up when a starter goes down on the football team? "Next" means the first one yet to come. Tuesday's not here yet.

Next Tuesday is the next one we will see, and it starts in our time zone in less than two hours. 8)

Gonna have to go with Outfield on this one. When speaking in terms of days of the week, the day upcoming is This "day" whichever day that may be and the one that goes into the following week is Next "day". So tomorrow is THIS WEDNESDAY and November 13 is NEXT WEDNESDAY. The proper way to say it is This coming Wednesday, but people have a tendency to be lazy when speaking and just say this wednesday. Next when referring to a day of the week should always infer the following week, but it's gotten so out of whack, that you basically have to ask a person which next they mean because it's almost 50/50 now on what they actually mean.

To get back to topic, Harvin has always had until the Vikings game to come back. No matter what you see, read or hear, we don't HAVE to activate him until after the Falcons game.

Hawks will almost surely move Lockette back to the practice squad.

If he cleared waivers. You need to release the player before they can be signed to PS.

Thank you for proving me right while trying to prove me wrong. 8)

Let's not go there. This wasn't a conspiracy. He passed the physical.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't make his debut vs the Saints after the bye. Anything before that seems too early, and anything later than that and I'll start getting worried.

Who will be activated first? Harvin or Crabtree? At this rate I don't know.

I know a lot of people do it that way. It's still wrong, is all I'm saying.

It's like when people say "jewelry" and pronounce it "jewlery", or they pronounce Realtor as "Realator". Wrong, but countless millions of people do it anyways because they get used to it.

You guys need to be worrying more about getting the date format wrong.
Its jewellery. So the latter is right.

Same with aluminium, theres an I in there.

Bloody Americans bastardising our language

It was aluminum before it was ever aluminium. So...not a good example.

Jesus Christ people, are some of you seriously arguing about BASIC stuff we all learned in elementary school?

"This" and "Next" refer to the week that the day falls on. It doesn't refer to the next instance of that day.

Tuesday of THIS week. Tuesday of NEXT week. It's not difficult.

Jeez...

What if it's Friday and you say next Tuesday? Does that mean 4 days from now or 11? And what would this Tuesday mean in that case? The one that already happened?
