I remember reading about part of Harvin's contract being affected by games played this year, but I don't recall details and don't care to look it up while I'm eating this burrita of mass destruction I made with chicken grilled over lump coal.

Anybody know? I seem to remember it affecting next year's salary as well, but I could be wrong.

EDIT: Looking now and can't find it, but I could have swore it had to do with him missing a certain number of games.

Maybe I'm thinking of something different, but Harvin's contract is voidable after this year which would save the team roughly half the guaranteed money they owe him. Of course, that's not happening.

To me, the silver lining is more reps for Baldwin, who can be very good when healthy. Also, it means more reps for Kearse, and if the good reports for Kearse continue I think he might have surprising value this season. Even after the Harvin injury, I have never been more upbeat about the Seahawks WR corps in my life. I consider Harvin, Tate, and Rice to all be fringe #1s, and Baldwin is a good 2nd receiver for most teams. Kearse could wind up as a good starter too, if his hands improve. The rest of our WRs after Kearse are better than the whatever SF is calling a #2 WR on week 1.

The bolded part I very much agree with. And I agree that Harvin isn't going anywhere as well if that's true.

Our starters at wide out are great at this point. The only thing that bothers me about losing pussy harvin is the lack of depth now . Last year golden tate was a poor mans harvin talent wise. Tate can do everything percy does just not quite at the same level.

Personally, I think Tate has better ball skills as a pure WR on the outside. Obviously doesn't have the raw explosion Harvins does though. Extremely few do.

Golden tate has great ball skills I wouldn't even compare them to harvin its not even close. The only thing I hate about tate is he does not get much separation. Wilson scrambles alot and gives him some time. Than tate is great on beating people 1v1 in jump ball battles.

the Hawks have invested to much to mess around so if its better for Harvin in the long term than thats what needs to happen just needs to get healthy and on the field.

Golden Tate is going to be an elite wr and it starts this year. Mark it down. I'm with Kearly, this group even without Harvin is one of our best ever if not the best. No worries.
