I didn't realize that at the time and I haven't rewatched the game yet but ESPN showed Sherman's hit on Williams.

Sherm hit him but ET got the strip. Team effort either way, and the very reason why they are the best secondary in the league.

Exactly. Sherm got the first hit, ET punched the ball out. Good play either way.

Yep. Sherman put his head or shoulder on the ball and jarred it lose. ET punched it out. Team effort all the way.

And that wasn't the only ball punched out like that. Lane(?) had another that tumbled out of bounds. They're practicing that, and it's paying off.

B Max looked like Peanut Tillman out there punching the ball

Truly a clutch play. What's crazy is that during that drive, I was telling myself that Carolina would probably drive nearly the length of the field, only to cough up a turnover in the redzone. It's nice to be able to say that, and actually feel like it could happen.

Best defense in the league, best secondary in the history of the modern game.

Okay... we are talking about DeAngelo Williams right? Not some player named Hall on the Panthers that I don't know of. Kind of confusing at first.

I think he mixed up Deangelo Hall and Deangelo Williams.

Sherman is pretty good at putting a shoulder pad right on the ball.

He did the same last year against Dez Bryant with Dallas.

This was the play that won us the game. They were running all over us in this drive. Working the clock. These two...Sherm and ET...solidified a win.

That was Maxwell. And the thing I liked about that play was he didn't realize he'd knocked the ball out at first and took another swing at it.

McDaniels recovered the fumble.

Also, to me Sherman knocked the ball loose ala Guy vs the Packers and Earl Thomas then punched it away and prevented D.Will from resecuring it.

yeah, everytime they showed the replay I kept thinking that Sherman should have gotten credit for the fumble. He caused it, he recovered it, ET assisted. But there was always that one moment where you couldn't see the play quite enough to be sure Sherman had knocked it loose and that it would have still been a fumble had not ET then stripped it. Either way, great teamwork.

I rate it 60/40 in favor of Sherm for who gets credit not that it matters . The point I was trying to make was Sherman deserved a lot of credit for that play and he wasn't really getting it.
