Why is this a story? Big deal, he was caught speeding on an Interstate highway late at night with probably relatively little traffic. Slow news day, evidently.
Sanders was also cited for speeding in Medina County 12 days prior to this incident, according to WKYC. The Browns have addressed the issue with Sanders and stated he will be taking care of the tickets.

It shows a lack of care for the safety of others. I'm not sure what the laws are where he got ticketed, but where I am, if you go 25+ over the posted speed limit, you get ticketed for reckless driving. Going 40+ over the posted limit definitely crosses the line into being straight up reckless.

Doesn't matter what time of day it is, or how much traffic there is, all it takes is something in the road that you didn't notice to cause you to slam on your brakes and swerve, causing your car to flip over multiple times, endangering yourself and/or any passengers plus any nearby vehicles.

On the news articles, only tickets were issued, and it read like the team took care of them. Ain't it nice that one can simply ask the troopers "Do you know who my father is?" Normally, over 100 mph earns you more than a ticket.

I'm not condoning it. I just don't think it's a story. It's just because he is who he is and his position in life, rather than any number of the millions of people who drive above the speed limit, or even those who drive well above it.

I agree but I have been in that area many times, I was born near the Browns
training camp and it's a busy area with Ohio State police barracks nearby.
I'm surprised he didn't get arrested, maybe it was the little local PD so he got
lucky because the sheriffs and state troopers do not go easy on reckless speeding.

While I agree with you 100%, he and all other athletes are role models and setting a bad example shouldn't go without punishment.

I'm not saying you're not saying that. I just think if he's going to act like that in his position, kids need to be aware of the repercussions and accountability aspect that follows. That goes for all types of illegal behavior regardless how minor it may be.

Yeah, I get you. But the repercussions in this case are likely him just paying a fine (chump change for him), and moving on. I don't think he really cares that he got caught speeding other than it was an annoyance to him. I bet he's thinking what's the big deal? I got caught speeding. So effing what. He's probably irritated that it was even a thing in the news, and wondering if he's going to have to act contrite and say something socially responsible about it for PR purposes.

Yeah, I'm pretty cynical about such things. LOL

Shedeur Sanders' speeding citation for driving 101 mph this week wasn't the first time he was cited for speeding in Ohio this month.

According to a Medina [Ohio] Municipal Court record that was filed June 6, Sanders was pulled over by the Ohio State Patrol earlier this month. In that alleged violation, which took place June 5 in Brunswick Hills, Ohio, the Ohio State Patrol told WJW-TV that Sanders was stopped for driving 91 mph in a 65 mph zone.

According to the record, Sanders failed to appear for an arraignment for that citation on Monday and faces $269 in fines and court costs. He was then stopped by an officer for the Strongsville (Ohio) Police Department at 12:24 a.m. Tuesday morning for driving 41 mph over the posted 60 mph speed limit in a black Dodge TRX truck.

I could see how such blatant immaturity could be a significant hindrance to having team officials view you as a potential member of their roster. That is pretty much the same sign he gave while being interviewed by the Giants.
Except this time it's the Browns. He's a candidate to back up the backup to Deshaun Watson after all. Character doesn't seem to be on their criteria list.

If Shedeur wins a superbowl for the Browns, the city of Cleveland would be happy to block off the entire interstate just for the pleasure of Shedeur to experience high speed.
