Alexander the Great bringing us the good news, as he'll be announcing the picks for the draft.

Here's a video for all the folks out there that think he was "all line". Notice all the pulls to the right, away from Hutch and Jones. And the vision and shifting thru the 2nd level without losing speed. Had an awful lot of 40+ runs

Shaun was stellar. I think some Hawk fans got spoiled watching Marshawn try and run through a brick wall every play. Shaun was elite. His recognition of open lanes and cutbacks was top tier. Did he make a few business decisions here and there? Sure. But just because you're able to fight for an extra yard two doesn't mean you should every play. Sometimes you need to know when to just go down. For RB's, longevity is paramount in a position that requires you to be a human battering ram. Otherwise you end up with Chris Carson, and most recently, K9. Players with great potential who are hamstrung by the injury bug.

The main criticism was him not fighting for extra yards in situations where we needed a first down and giving himself up like that before being touched to prolong his health at the cost of helping for the W. I noticed that he did fight harder in Superbowl XL though.

Love me some Shaun Alexander. He's one of my top 5 favorite Seahawks. Great vision and cutback abilities.
Alexander got a concussion and that was all she wrote for him it seemed. He was a different player after. Before, he was the best in the league.

Loved watching him play. I never felt he had elite speed or even got ‘tight’ when he cut…..but his field vision was phenomenal.

The way he read and predicted how the defense developed….

Definitely one of my favorite all-time Seahawks.

Loved watching Alexander run for a TD.... always wondered if he would have had the success he did without Mack Strong leading the way.

Unfortunately, my last memory of SA was the Wild One in the Windy City. It was the last time I remember him just tearing it up. This was the playoff loss to the Bears in 2007(Chi lost to Indy in SB). There was a 4th down and short with like 2 min left at midfield. Bears blitzed and there was a huge hole off the left side Alexander was heading to. But Hass bobbled it and we turned it over. Alexander was quoted that he had a TD if he got the ball. That was our last real shot during the Holmgren Era. I loved that offense

.....just remembered, this was the game after the Romo debacle

I don't remember anyone saying the line was the only reason he had success for several years. I think, rightfully so, many state he was advantaged running behind the greatest left side in NFL history, but acknowledge his top tier vision, quickness, and cut ability.

I've said many times it goes both ways - Walt and Hutch also had the benefit of run-blocking for some of the all-time greats, Walt spent most of his career blocking for Ricky Watters and Shaun Alexander. Hutch spent most of his blocking for Alexander and Adrian Peterson.

Unfortunately too many attribute so much of Shaun's success to his linemen, but imo all 3 should be held in equal regard.

He ran behind Mack Strong and I believe Steve Hutchinson then . He has a few really good years.
