I did hear Servando Carrasco mentioned as a possible pick up which would probably mean goodbye to Ozzy.

I think with Svensson's contract renewed and Morris coming back, Schmetzer is perfectly fine with Roldan dropping into Ozzie's role full time. To me Carrasco would just be depth if we signed him.

No Ozzie, Clint and Torres should open up a nice chunk of money to go after a winger either this off season or next summer's transfer window.

Is Torres gone? I thought he is still under contract

Yes but the rumors are we're shopping Torres, I think Lagerway and Schmetzer are comfortable with Marshall and Kee Hee at CB.

Sounders have signed Jordan Morris to a new 5-year contract and are working on an extension for Cristian Roldan.

The Sounders are also apparently close to signing 26 year old Peruvian left back Miguel Trauco.

Trauco currently plays for Flamengo in Brazil and has 30 caps for Peru.

Anyone who watched the World Cup should get excited about Trauco, he's a beast...............another great bonus for signing a player like Ruidiaz, immediate inside connection to signing other Peruvian players. Guarantee you he had a part in this signing, and the almost signing of Hurtado last summer.

Sad that his means no more Smith, I liked how he fit in here. But I totally understand Lagerwey wanting to get younger and more dependable injury wise at LB.

IIRC, Smith was on a loan so there isn't any certainty that he would be back. Signing Trauco ensures they have someone there to man the position. I think they need to find a CB because Marshall isn't getting any younger and he's had significant injury issues last season.

Sigint Schmid is in intensive care at a ucla hospital. :(

He looked like a heart attack waiting to happen for a while.

Hope he pulls through.

MLS announced new playoff format. Looks like two more teams qualify, but all matches will be single elimination...........no more two match agg.

With the home & home format no longer being used, the playoffs won't drag on as long. The MLS Cup will be played before Thanksgiving instead of early December.

Wouldve liked them to keep the home/away at quarters and semis

I tend to agree, I didn't mind the aggregate system.

But I also understand shortening the season, including more teams and trying to generate more excitement with one match playoff rounds in a much shorter playoff season.

I've always thought the MLS season shouldn't drag into late November and December, when most sports fan's eyeballs are on football, basketball and hockey.
