Matt Brash with the start. We'll see how the kid does.

First time starting in the Majors. Good luck to him as he seems like a decent starting pitcher.

Giving Julio the day off, which I’m not fond of even though he’s struggling.

I don't mind. After they bungled the JK sitch last season, nice to think they may have learned something. :)

I assume he's available to pinch hit if needed, or even subbing in.

Fingers crossed we don't get shut out again.

The White Sox are a good team, and something I hope the Mariners try and emulate in the future

Brash looks so young but.. some of those pitches be nasty. So, the league just pitching the M's tough?

Brash did his job. Any run support at all he'd be in line for a win.

Not able to watch. How did brash do? I saw the statline but did he have the sharp break we saw this spring?

Yeah, he had a few whiffs on his slider and curve. 6 k's I believe. Faced their top 3 three times in 6 1/3. Fast ball was cooking at 95-98. Actually has a couple of sliders, one he can throw for strikes in the zone, and that sharp breaking sweeper that gets the right handed batters. Knuckle curve is pretty sharp as well.

JK got straight up screwed on that last K looking.
Ball was nearly a foot outside.

I would like to see him and Julio be more aggressive early in counts though. Make the pitcher fear that you are swinging early will get you into better hitters counts.

JK is in his own head again.

Robbie Ray tomorrow. We should be OK on the mound, but without run support...well ask Felix Hernandez about that. 🤦‍♂️

No one is hitting except for France. Hard to win games with that little of an offense.

And one of the hits, can't remember if it was off Toro or France or who, resulted from a rare unsuccessful catch by the pitcher of a shallow pop-up between the mound and first base that included a juggling act. Hope the lack of hits and runs ends tonight!

Different year same old Mariners. Alway trying to sell hope and promise. Can't hit worth a lick. It seems Kelenic starting on the opening day roster or in AAA doesn't matter. He struggles to make contact. He may end up being another 4A player. Really good in minors but can't hit in the majors. Too bad too. I really like the kid. Gives really honest and thoughtful interviews.

If we are basing stuff off of batting average the whole team minus France needs to be sent down to AAA.
