Wait, what? We didn't win by 31 you say? What the heck??

Yeah, it was one of those games. Sitting in the stands it had that feeling like the first time this year where we actually played down to our opponent. Now I don't know if that's truly what happened or not but when they went up 10-7 at the half off a flukey FG attempt, you knew it was just "one of those games."

After the game, as the fans poured out of CLink, you would have SWORN we lost. There was no hootin' and hollerin'...No bravado to be found. Just fans walking to their cars or bars.

Ugly win? Maybe. But a win is a win. We should have dominated them at home but we didn't. I thought for sure we would cover. Maybe all of you who were concerned about this game had good reason to be. I'm just happy we are 5-1 despite not firing on all cylinders yet. 49ers are not going to go away, and hell, neither are the Rams or Cardinals. We caught a break today with the Saints falling to the Pats in the last seconds.

Now we have a short week before we face the Cardinals. We SHOULD win, but WILL we? Stay tuned and buckle up.

that team was 3-2 for a reason coming into this game, they're pretty good, I don't see any reason to be down.

I think we might have been spoiled by last season late explosion.

Tennessee might make the playoffs this year, but starting next year I think they'll be dangerous.

The fact that the score was close didn't bother me at all. Tennessee, with the exception of Ryan Fitzpatrick, isn't a bad team. What does bother me is the absurd amount of mental mistakes tonight. Even with HFA, you cannot win in the playoffs playing that way. The coaching staff has some serious work to do following this one.

Fans expecting us to blowout a team like the Titans with our offensive issues ... Tells me we have some homeristic bandwagoners.

I thought it would be pretty much how it was.

Statistically I suspect we were not that bad this game. We got pummeled with penalties again, we had (for the second game in a row!) a fluke field goal not only taken away from us but also returned to the house and we had to once again rely on our superhuman QB/RB/CB to carry this team to where coaching and some merely human teammates simply could not. I am satisfied with this one actually.

The team played so poorly that we are worried about a win in Arizona.

I suppose that is a silver lining that at least they have a fire lit under their butts but that wasn't a great showing today. Fitz is not a great QB. Anything above an average QB probably carves us up today because Fitz seemed to have little problem doing it himself.

Either way this is a win, it keeps us even with SF. I don't know how we are going to hold them off though, hopefully adding Harvin means we get a reasonable offense again. He needs to come back soon.

I guess we got no major injuries? hopefully? That is the one other silver lining since the Titans have some players that are pretty well known for knocking guys out for more than one game.

I'm going to watch the DVR playback tonight to see what I missed by being at the game (which is usually A LOT). Sloppy play for sure but in the end our stars prevailed.

We are even with SF?
Check the standings.

The game was underwhelming but I feel like a lot of people seriously underestimated Tennessee. They are a solid, tough team with questions at quarterback. The Seahawks are 5-1 and still clunking around on offense, the defense had only given up about 160 yards late in the fourth quarter. There's an unreasonable expectation that no matter the opponent we are blowing them out at home. Thats not going to happen. Every single bounce went against the Seahawks, yet they still won. Many other seasons a game like that would have been a lost.

San Francisco see-sawed with a 3-2 team at home today. They squeaked out a win.

Seattle see-sawed with a 3-2 team at home today. They pulled out a win.

BUT HOW WILL WE EVER HOLD THEM OFF???

Perhaps I'm missing something...

Yeah, a lot of very high expectations coming from those games and the recent SF blow out. Can't expect that stuff to happen every week which is why I think so many people are so down even after a win. Definitely have a lot of things to fix, but no doubt this is still a top Superbowl contender. We had a lots of ups and downs last season only to turn it on late.

Again, not saying things are perfect, but it just seems like every thread or every post is negative. There's definitely things to fix, but there's also a lot of great things that this team did not only today, but on a week to week basis that should be recognized.

Finally a statement I totally agree with. Tenesse was good enough to give KC all they could handle despite Fitzpatric. Too many people think that how we performed in the second half of last season should erase the effect of starting the worst Left Tackle in the league. Let's also not forget that Unger is the only consistently solid player on the OL right now.

Wasn't expecting a blowout Greg. Just expecting something that didn't resemble the Keystone Cops.

Titans make teams play that way...just like the Seahawks do.

You'll be thankful next week, when they do that to the 49ers.

I said it before the game, TEN was not going to be a cake walk. Anyone who's been paying attention would have known that. They are elite in 3rd down defense, their CB is playing as good as Sherman, they get sacks, and Fitzpatrick is good enough to win a game against anybody.

We overcame a 10-point swing on a botched FG, outgained them by nearly 200 yards, and saw some great play from Russell and Marshawn. Not to mention we're still without Okung, Miller, Harvin, Breno, etc.

5-1 and I'm feeling good!

My apologies to all of you who said it wouldn't be a cake walk. I thought it was going to be. Regardless of the fact that I think it still should have been, I admit I underestimated the Titans.

The Titans are fundamentally solid but they have no run game and a backup QB. I expected the defense to play at about what they did today.

Their defense is average.
