We are, we are trading Fant. We are, we are trading Noah Fant.

DK, geNO, talks of K9 to the Raiders, now hinting at making Fant redundant.
I am not willing to speculate and go that far.

Truthfully teams do load up pre draft but these type of players tend to be added post draft as there is no hurry to sign him. Very peculiar indeed.

Willie Schneider finds them, John Schneider signs them.

Schneiders move in mysterious ways.

I Dont see this as any thing that will stop us from drafting a tight end. Pharoah Brown was a disappointment, and could easily be cut. This just means we dont have to reach for a tight end and have an extra veteran around camp before cutdowns.

I hope you are right and it does not involve trading away Fant.

He might be decent depth. More than likely this means little more than bad news for Brady Russell, who was barely on the field anyway. I can't imagine he's anywhere near a lock to make the team, and I would hope this wouldn't affect any draft decisions, like if Schneider thought highly enough of Warren or Loveland that he would have taken them at #18 before this signing, nothing should be any different now.

Just how far are you willing to speculate? 😆

He’s only a disappointment if you had expectations. I’ve learned the expectations are directly related to frustrations. So….

The bigger picture is that they may or may not, it keeps other team's guessing. I love this strategy of plugging up as many holes as you can before the draft, not only will other teams have no clue what position we're going to take with our picks but also being able to nail the BPA without reaching for need.

I'm for this.
What these guys said. 👍

I do not understand this move.

This could have been done post draft if you fail to land a rookie TE to team with Fant, Barner and Russell. The team will be using a lot more two TE sets for this new offense but this is tipping off that the Seahawks may not intend to draft a TE for the 2025 NFL draft.

Puzzling.

Not sure this move is important enough to have a strong opinion about honestly

It's just depth that only makes the team if he adds value. Win win.

Saubert is fine for a #3 TE but it seems the Seahawks are open for business when it comes to players hitting 30 and over on offense.

Makes no sense to me really.
I think it makes more sense when you think about it from a 2-3 year plan and beyond. The championship team they want to build I think will depend on the next 2 draft classes. By that time all these aging vet contracts can be gotten out of easily if the production isn’t there. The contract structure indicates they want to be good now but GREAT in a few years. Bringing in vets to allow the rooks to develop is a smart move to me. We aren’t borrowing from the future. I know that the Hawks haven’t been the team we’ve wanted to see but clockwork 9-10 win seasons is hard to do and especially when factoring in wholesale coaching and scheme changes. I for one am glad we aren’t looking at a few hopeless seasons to get there.

Smokescreen. K9 to the Raiduhs and Ashton Jeanty at #18. Jeanty will need some blocking TEs.
