Practice squad UDFA redemption story. I think he has the will to be a great player if he happens to get the perfect opportunity to shine. Week 4 call up to carry us through until Nowusu gets back.

Seems a little odd to me that they would give him so much playing time just to cut him, especially after how he performed. I hope he can get onto the PS, but I bet he'll get picked up.

Yup, seems risky to leave the Sheriff outside the ranch given his performance, unless Seahawks already have some sort of agreement with him. This is where trustable front office reputation comes in...

I suppose other teams could offer him some sort of signing bonus. Wouldn't be the first time an attempted player stash got thwarted by another team, often by the Seahawks. That LB Drake whatever from the Raiders is a recent example. Going back a ways, Breno Giacomini was snatched off the Packers PS.

EDIT: So, learning more about Jamie Sheriff, and his relative lack of pedigree, so it could be unlikely that he's high on anyone else's radar.
The questions around the league would be something like... What random no-talent bums did he beat for sacks in the preseason? Would he be able to perform like that against NFL starters?

I plead guilty to being overly influenced by a single preseason JJ-Watt-like performance against unheralded unknowns. BTW, who recalls Sean Salisbury's preseason performance as a Seahawk?

With the 1st waiver claim in the entire NFL, the Panthers grabbed Sheriff. They also grabbed Rhattigan

What a great story for Jamie though. He is now on an NFL active roster and he’s much closer to home.

I don’t know what a beer delivery driver makes, but he’s now at $795,000 annually if I googled correctly.

JS should get a commission check from Tepper, Carolina is loaded with former Hawks.

A few things to remember.

1. We saw Jamie for a few quarters and yes, he was impressive. But. One of the most coveted young D minds in the league (Mac) saw him everyday for three weeks before making the decision.

2. Hopefully this cut means Hall is dramatically improving and coach feels the edge is nailed down.

It sucks but for some perspective he was playing against 2nd/3rd stringers mostly. Not that he can't be good

Anyone else remember Nick Reed about 10 years ago? He was either UDFA or very late pick.

He was brilliant in the final preseason game in some situational pass rushing opportunities.

.NET (myself included) couldn’t get enough of him and threatened revolt if he didn’t make the squad.

He did.

Career stats- 19 tackles as he went through 4 teams in rapid succession. For every Michael Bennett, there is 20 Nick Reeds.
