Are SB the only judge?

1.) Pete
2.) MacDonald
3.) Holmgren

I’m a huge Holmgren fan, and feel we’ve been blessed to have these three as our almost* consecutive coaches (minus speed bump of Mora)

MacD would have rolled Sam out on a bootleg, and hit JSN where no INT was in danger; if he missed that, he would then have run it. Because time on the clock still mattered, and running it first would have been asinine at that point in the game.

Pete (legacy)

Mac - let's see how they handle success

Holmie - got us there at least

Chuck Knox - put us on the map in the early days.

Knox was a phenomenal coach. Took this team to the playoffs a few times.

I've loved almost every coach we've had. MM is right near the top, though. He changed the culture and mentality so damn fast.

Macdonald edges out Pete Carroll just slightly IMO. Age, how quickly he won the SB, and the fact that he was the architect of the defense AND calling plays gives him the bump over Carroll.

Pete for now based on longevity and there was a soft-reset to get us back the playoffs post LOB. But Macdonald is going to pass him, possibly as soon as next year

Pete and it’s not even close right now. 10 playoff appearances in 14 years, two Super Bowl appearances with one victory. Took a bad team at the time and made them quite competitive his first year. McDonald is on his way, but has a way to go.

I think you could argue this was the best coached season in Seahawks history, but I don't think you can say MM is the best coach in Seahawks history after just two seasons. You have to remember that Pete had one of the top winning percentages in the NFL over his reign (might have been #1) won two conference championships and a SB. Pete did it over years and years.

Now if Mike gets another SB, he automatically becomes the greatest coach in Seahawks history to me. So let's see what Mike can keep doing. No doubt he's an unbelievable coach either way.
