True, it also indicates they will may target a pick as depth in the Draft.
We do still have K'von Wallace and Jerrick Reed. It very well could mean depth in the draft but we do still have solid backups on the cheap.

If Jenkins can find a team.
We have two 6th rounders, I would package Rayshawn with a 6th and ask for a 5th.
Two 5ths are better than two 6ths.
He is actually a decent player who at 31 probably see's this as his last chance at significant playing time in the league.
He is at least a solid depth guy who could compete for or fill in as a starter.

Would be nice to get something for him. I’d expect any trade at this point to be no higher than a 7th or a conditional future pick. Whether we cut or trade him we get about $5 million in cap relief though and that’s a good thing.

I know Jenkins won't get us a 3rd but I would love a 2nd 3rd in this draft to be able to comfortably draft a QB. That's the sweet spot for this draft. That allows us to still take best Defensive front 7, O line, TE, defensive back before the drop off.

His cap is $7.7M, so I hope he finds a partner! Not a bad player, but he's not going to see the field with Love holding it down.
Also if Seattle is looking to draft more safeties for whatever reason, Jenkins, is more so a cut candidate cause I can’t imagine a team looking to trade for his services…

I was thinking Maliek Starks could be an option for us in round 1.

IIRC they are pretty high on Reed. Maybe they think they'll move him up this year. Jenkins is almost superfluous and if we can get something in return, that's better than just releasing him.

Oh, I believe K'Von will be eligible for FA come Mar 12th. Doesn't look like they are planning to re-sign him.

I wouldn't hold my breath. Other teams know Jenkins is likely to be released anyway, so why would they give up anything for him?

True, but it's worth a shot. Some safety strapped team might like to bring in a vet rather than take their chances in the draft. Nothing much lost if there are not takers, other than some cap money.
