No surprise. Russell's a student of the game, and has studied a number of other quarterbacks, both past and present, including Drew Brees and Fran Tarkenton, with the objective of picking up on something that might improve his game.

Does that mean we're going to hear "OMAHA" a lot?

It would be amusing to see Wilson spew the names of local towns during his audibles.

"RENTON! RENTON!" ...throws a pick-six.

I don't find the thought of Wilson throwing a pick 6 amusing, nor do I find it realistic.

He is #294th worst all time at throwing pick 6's with a grand total of 3.

Luck who came in the same year has 10 to compare, and Farve the leader has 32!!

Because people read stuff like that and think Wilson is bad at throwing pick 6's when he is one of the best at avoiding it. This leads to mis information and more Wilson hate which I tend to defend.

Why use the pick 6 example ending when talking about being amused??

I believe it was a slam on Renton, not Wilson.

I read it as a slam on Wilson. And we need to be extra careful when spewing things around here, the NFL and Seahawks are watching.

I didn't read it that way. Renton would be the audible word yes, but the (bad) audible call and throw are both Russ.

Either way, I don't find a pick 6 amusing, more like very annoying.

Yeah, but you are are always wanting to slam Wilson.

Wrong!

I defend Wilson all the time. If I ever say something negative it is typically sarcasm toward others saying something against him.

Yeah we could really confuse the defenses with this idea, especially if Schotty and Russell throw in a bunch of confusing NW names only we know how to pronounce.

Russell at the line: "Green Humptulips right strong Skamokawa Skookumchuck wide banana slot Tulalip on two."

After being locked down for 4 days, surely the dust has settled. Unlocking this thread now.

I found the linked Russell Wilson interview enjoyable. There is really a lot there to listen in on. It encompasses a lot more than just Omaha.

In the 16 minute interview, the mention of Peyton Manning was a small blip. Russell Wilson dropped the names of Brady and Brees as well.
There were two more interesting bits of the interview.

One, about how Russ is acknowledged to be one of the most "clutch" QBs in the league. His answer was that all of the great names in sports, Steph Curry, Lebron, Brady and Brees, look forward to those high pressure, do-or-die moments and revel in them. You will not hear anyone say this about Ryan Fitzpatrick, Cam Newton, et al.

Second, and the most intriguing, was the clip from Brian Schottenheimer. "I didn't know Russ, being first year offensive coordinator" and for the upcoming season, "at the line of scrimmage, give Russ more freedom".

I'm so pumped about this year; we're finally going to see Russell Wilson kick things up to a whole other level.
