Looks good, but hopefully the work on the gameplay a bit more than how the crowd reacts to you. They've been focusing on aesthetics so much that the actual game isn't as good anymore.

Pretty awesome. Now it makes sense why the Ps3 version of Madden 25 was mediocre. They put all their time into the next gen versions.

its sad how this is supposed to be "new" material. EA is just not on par with other production companies.. madden is a complete joke these days. yet people (including myself) keep buying it because its the only nfl game on the market.. they need competition damnit! what happened to nfl2k!

Madden doesn't have any competition because EA has a deal with the NFL saying they're the only guys that can make official NFL games. And yeah, Madden games are kinda crap. But unless you play an older game like All-Pro Football 2K8 or a modded Madden '08 on the PC, you don't have any other options.

Madden is a waste of money. I was watching an interview with some of the developers, and they admit that they lack the technology for the game to run the way it's intended. That's why the AI is just as stupid as ever, and why it's one of the easiest, and most frustrating games at the same time. The gaming engines they use don't allow the game to be as realistic as they say it is. If the game has the same issues it has had since conception, then they need to overhaul this shit or quit charging 60+ dollars for what they have stated themselves as a sub par game. At least they have plenty of cash from people that buy/eat this crap up.

That is not to say it's a fun game, but EA needs to stop lying about how great this game is. Hell, I play Madden with my GF on a regular basis, but most of the time we're laughing at the stupid stuff the AI is doing.

Looks awesome.

I really don't get the complaints about Madden. If you don't like it don't buy it. I hate it when people line up to buy something and then complain about it, just like they did the last time.

The latest version of madden has some of the best 'gamplay' and control the series has ever had. Running the ball has never felt as good as it does now and neither does playing a DB or WR against a pass if you learn to use the user catch and ballhawk systems. The career mode is fun and plays almost like an RPG or something where you can really tune players how you want. I'm on year two of my franchise and I've got my man Golden Tate as the top receiver in the NFL with his catch-intraffic cranked up so I can throw him the ball in single coverage and he'll get that thing like a beast.

Super excited about the Xbox one version I have pre-ordered. Glad to see they are working on the crowd and sideline animations and models because that's been the one aspect of the aesthetics that haven't lived up to the rest of the advancements.

Anyone who thinks that they are just sitting on their hands not doing much to improve the game year to year just doesn't get how the industry works or how hard it is to actually create a game. Turning something around in a year is difficult. Aside from the yearly upkeep tweaks of the NFL and NFL rules that need to be followed, and engine updates, and graphic updates, and then cramming them all into the game and taking the proper amount of time to test it, you also have to factor in the time it takes them to get a final product ready to replicate and package and distribute, and also meeting marketing deadlines along the way.

The only time i've been legitimately disappointed with an iteration of madden was the 06 version when the xbox 360 came out because it was so dumbed down to release on time with the console.

Sorry Hawknballs, but I'm just not buying it. EA can sit and do minimal updates because they have the exclusive rights to the NFL.

Back when competitors were bringing in new ideas, EA struggled to keep up. The last 2K release CRUSHED Madden at the time AND came in at a cheaper price. So did EA fight back with an enhanced game? Nope. They flexed their bank muscle, bought the exclusive license, and the game has stagnated ever since.

It cracks me up when they trumpet 1-2 new features every year. If they had a real competitor with an NFL license to take some market share from them, those 1-2 new features would quickly snowball to 4-5 new features. And then it would be worth buying again!

EA doesn't care about anything but Money. One of their ex developers put EA and the Madden franchise on blast about how the business end of producing the game hindered the overall quality of the game as a whole.

As I mentioned before, the gaming engine doesn't work as intended. The technology required to make this a football game, and not an arcade game with football themes is simply not there.

Watch the videos on this review and you'll see what I mean.

Point being, this franchise has been stagnant for years and people keep buying into these little tweaks and new "features", when the core of the game itself is flawed. Will that change with the Xbox one? Given track record, I'm leaning towards not a chance in hell. Will it be fun? Sure, if players keep tripping over themselves and give me something to chuckle at.

Question. How the hell can you designate captains on career mode? I've got a PS3 but can't figure out or find out how to make Wilson my captain. I got back ups and rookies as my captains. It's laughable.

They probably took that feature out.

I've purchased one football game back in '04 when I was in college. Haven't purchased one since. Same shit over and over.

They might as well just charge you a yearly fee to update the teams/players since the game is the same each year.

The "EA ONLY CARES ABOUT MAKING MONEY!" argument is so tired.

Because sooooo many other companies out there care about so much more than making money, right? Riiiiiiight.
