No that would be Walter Jones, Steve Largent, Cortez Kennedy, Kenny Easley, Sherman, Kam, all ahead of him. Wilson played an important role no doubt, those other guys I named created a new standard at their positions.

I agree. I fully understand why people hate on him and his exit. I have a friend who works for the Seahawks so I have a different view on his character than most but again not everyone has that so I get it. And even if he is a good dude he is still cringey at times and has his biggest fan on the site I fully admit that lol.

This guy, Wilson, really self sabotaged his career. If Wilson was less of an ego maniac, Seattle, would have two Super Bowl back to back victories against Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. That would have cemented everyone’s legacy on these Seahawks teams.

But, since Wilson wanted to be the star—and only star with everyone focused on Wilson, he ultimately destroyed his own legacy.

Wilson’s desire with fame overweighed his actual football abilities. And it didn’t have to be so cause Wilson did get the opportunity to lead the Seahawks after that Super Bowl debacle and when the Seahawks could not field a defense to that caliber again and Lynch getting past his prime.

But Wilson chose himself over what should have been the teams victory cause he wanted to be the star and only star.

I don't hate RW I just think we all spend far too much time here talking about this egomaniac. I even had his jersey and a freaking expensive print which is away in closet to be in time removed from its matted frame. I loved him at first and enjoyed watching how good he was at escaping pressure and creating long plays. Sadly he got figured out and that was then of it for the great RW. Hall of fame QB? Give your head a shake.

To me the biggest mistake made with the player was renewing his deal the 3rd time. That was the moment in time the Hawks needed to draft a young QB to develop and let Wilson and his "Mr. Unlimited" ego walk away to demonstrate how overrated he truly was. That was the beginning of a Wilson induced cap hell that has now been escaped from and Wilson is demonstrating just how "Limited" he really is as a QB. JS was right with Wilson and PC was wrong.

For me I believe like any player who truly didn't want to be here and got themselves traded with stupid guaranteed contract demands or unrealistic demands for him to be special and treateddifferent from the rest of his team. It's simply long past time to move on.

I'm with you on the PC being part of the problem, he enabled Me3 to act
the way he did and sheltered him.
This caused dissent to the team concept, this is before we get to all the
dumb trades and FA signings that Pete wanted.

I will always be a fan of Russ. I loved watching him as our quarterback. I didn’t think he was gonna leave, but when he did I still wanted to see how he did. Not gonna lie it was nice that the broncos sucked, entertaining. Sean Payton was a douche and I feel bad that Russ had to go through that. Russ probably was made out to be even worse cause of Payton. Only thing is Russ made that bed. When Russ became a stealer it was ironic. He played for 2/3 of the teams we played in the Super Bowl. I rooted for Russ as a steeler, mainly cause it was irrelevant. I hope Russ salvages his career in New York, but he could start by not talking

Off hand, I can't think of a better "book end" ROI by a Seahawks General Manager. Schneider owns the #1 ROI spot in Seahawks history.

Maybe that was the motivation behind sending Russell a Seahawks jersey during the off season ..... in recognition of such.

Adding the rest of those that put players in Wilson does not even make top 10, he had skill but he was devisive, alienating, self entitled and put himself above the team. That does not make him a good player, a good player makes the team better, he did not elevate anyones game, the team elevated his, just look at what happened in Denver, Pittsburgh and soon New York Giants. You rate the QB position highest amongst all others, well Wilson did'nt fulfill his role as a leader, team mate, and team unifier, he had great safe stat lines granted.

I struggle at times in trying to be fair regarding #3. I agree with many on here that he was a great piece of the puzzle at the right time on a team with an all time defense. Yes it's true , there were some games where Seattle put some serious points up but that certainly wasn't all the time.
I often was upset watching them squander opportunities because of Wilson not being able to read his progression, spin , run a backyard zoomie and take a sack . Seattle had a decent roster .
Once he got to Denver it was truly exposed for the world to see .
