No rap whatsoever on Russell as I'm sure that his teammates appreciate his generosity and it was a very nice gesture, but I did the math and came up with this:

$12K, the value of the gift, divided by $35M, RW's salary, =.000343. If you take a person earning $75k per year and times that amount by .000343, you come up with $25.73, or about the price of a couple of craft beers at the Clink.

And that doesn't even take into account the amount of money RW earns for endorsements and other income beyond his football salary.

Looking at that graphic wakes up a person to the income gap between highly paid professional athletes and their fans.

So more like your average salary earner dropping $350.00 on some craft beers to show appreciation to some co-workers.
Also, those craft beers are unlikely to appreciate in value over time. More likely the investment will quite literally go down the toilet.

But agreed, I would not 'rap' a co-worker that showed this sort of generosity.

If you put it in context of the 13 players, then yes, you are correct. An hour in the bar after work and the boss picks up the tab.

And I suppose that giving away stock options instead of buying some friends or co-workers a couple of beers is another difference between the lifestyles of the rich and famous and that of the average Joe.

You could keep them and then they'd get what we used to call skunky and you young guys now call IPA's.
