Russ is a consummate professional in all aspects, but especially taking care of himself. I've heard him mention several times in interviews how much time he takes in making sure to get his body right during the week in getting ready for the next game. Just needs to keep weathering the storm until we can at least get big Russ back. Go Hawks!

Enough excuses and speculation. Wait for facts. 8-1 people.
No excuses and I was quoting Pete, not speculating. Just concern for our team's best player by most of us here. Again, get over yourself dude.

Plus 1.
He's only human, and all those cheap shots will start taking their toll on him.
And yea Jazz, he's an NFL QB, but flesh, bone and blood just like Peyton Manning, and there is no excuse for allowing that cheap shots shit to keep going without a little more severity in penalizing the culprits.
The League talks High and Mighty bullshit about protecting players from serious injuries in just about every aspect of the game ,so if they truly mean it, make them prove it by backing up their bullshit concerns with actually covering ALL the players on the field.
If I'm going overboard, then how do you explain the "Hitting a Defenseless Player" that was called on Tate last Season, and the bullshit call on Kam for a LEGAL hit on VD., but not on Quinn and the rest.
I know it's water under the bridge, but they take nearly 8 K away from Tate for waving his hand, how much did Quinn have to part way$ with?

And Okung is out with just a toe issue and RW is taking a beating.

This post is Exhibit #1,524,670 why we should stop calling it "turf toe." People don't actually read about what turf toe is and then make silly comments like this one out of ignorance.
silly? Ignorance?
I know what turf toe is because I've dealt with it. It hurt like heck. Antonio Gates played with it most of the 2011 season. It slowed him considerable but he got his job done as best he could. I know Okung doesn't need to sprint and cut and jump like Gates but he does need that sore toe to anchor and slide from side to side occasionally. I also know our team docs felt that Okung could play through it and take care of it off season but he couldn't take the pain and has missed half the season and will miss at least two more games. I know while he has been out rehabbing his toe the man he is paid very well to protect has taken a beating. So while I do understand that playing offensive tackle in the nfl on a turf toe is very painful I hope he is ready to do his job because I've got a pretty good idea that getting trucked by 265 lb DE's from his blindside is becoming pretty painful to our QB.

I'm still absolutely livid at all of the late shots they got on Russ without penalty.

3 in one drive at the end of the game when the ball was clearly gone. And they weren't of the ticky tack variety. He was getting drilled, LATE.

More so he was taking shots to the head, I get he is shorter than average QB's but no excuse for targeting that looked like was going on out there.

Does he need a massage? Some Five Guys? I'll be right over as soon as I know how I can help.

"Some five guys" massage? Have you been certified in this little known, perhaps radical technique, SM? Sounds absolutely frightening.

I've also had turf toe, and I completely understand sitting out for 8 weeks or so. It's on our staff to figure out how to deal with Okung's absence.

He's a freaking NFL QB! A professional football player paid to take big hits. My god you guys act like he's a china doll.

^^^And this post is equally hyperbolic. An example of 'china doll' is Brock Huard. I think most of us on this board can comprehend the difference. Yes, Wilson is a tough nut, but he's taking a heckuva pounding every week. There is no guarantee that anybody can continue to absorb that week after week.
