You guys have your opinion, I guess. I was a huge Turbin enthusiast, and out of all the 2012 RBs I liked him the best but this site has a tendency to point out flaws. And over the pre-season and in games, I can't help but notice them all the time now.
Namely, he doesn't have the agility to break ankle tackles nor does he have lower body strength to bully defenders. He most likely will improve his lower body strength over time but I can't help to think he'll always be a stiffed hip, linear rusher.
Again, Turbin's a decent all-around player, people are taking that JuJo reference too personally, if it helps he's more Maurice Morris ability with a Julius Jones build. (Julius Jones was okay at times)
Also, I never said Michael should replace Turbin as the 3rd Down back, so all the emphasis on pass-blocking ability or the lack there-of, isn't needed.
All I am saying, is that Michael should be used more, to see what he's capable of, he's one of the most explosive players on the team, and a great play-making running back, who is capable of turning a 1 loss ankle tackle into a 20 yard splash play.
This team is struggling mightily in the passing game, well, at least in pass-protection, but has been good in the running game for the most part. Michael can be a spark of momentum, he's a player that can "tilt the field".
Turbin, to me, is just average, he can be productive, and he has value in the bigger picture but the team would be better off with giving Michael some chances when Lynch needs a simple breather and especially when the offense is stalling to move the ball series after series.
