RIP but I hope he's still alive though, people passing depresses me
somewhat.

You would think stuff like this would make people pause and think about the weird shit they do to strangers on the internet as we’ve seen a ton of on this site. I’m glad this forum has gotten so much better in that regard. Never know what anyone is dealing with or could be dealing with in an instant. Being kind isn’t all that hard, or shouldn’t be.

Mael made this back in October of 2024. So, it's def. not an April fools. I'm STILL waiting to hear if Chawker actually passed. Hope not.
The obituary I found matches his city, first name, and the full date of birth he put on his profile. I think it's pretty conclusive unfortunately, but it'd be cool if he randomly logged in and proved me wrong.

I don't see any of those in his profile?

Chawker and I argued a lot. We were legitimately quite annoyed by each other when it came to football opinions.

He was so damn jovial, though. Loved being a fan and talking about it. He was super human.

I regret being a dick to him and not returning the same humanity. I wish I could tell him that directly.

I dunno. Food for thought. Be nicer. I wish I was.

Having opposing football opinions is good and healthy. We are here to discuss, aren't we?
Attacking the posters instead of debating their opinions isn't why we are here, right?

@SoulfishHawk and I seldom agree on football matters, but he has been kind to me, and I would like to buy him drinks if we meet.

His name and city are just from what I remember of his posts over the years. The birthday is in the about section.

If I have to verify, I can share the obituary and screenshots from his profile when I'm home, but I really just wanted to put up a memorial post.

I don’t come in this forum often so I’m late to the news. This really sucks. I hate losing members. Especiallly those that contributed so much for so long. Makes me consider my own mortality. I hope he rests in peace and gets front row seats overlooking our next Lombardi win

Ah shoot, it was that guy? I honestly can't remember if he was someone I conversed with on here much, but the ALF avatar was always something I enjoyed seeing, as ALF is one of the innocent icons of my youth of whom I was a huge fan. I feel like I had a favorable opinion of Chawker as a poster. RIP.

Sac also???.....damn sad. Was always one of my favorites.
Its sad to think that some leave us and we'll never know, and can never give proper thoughts and respect.

I for one, promise to let everyone know I have passed!

Yes, Sac passed. Twas posted a couple years back in Facebook. Someone posted it. It is a sad thing to lose some by attrition, but even more sad for them from the Lord. Peace.

I just noticed this thread today. Wow, another .NET member gone too soon. I found Chawker to be ultimately benign, jovial, playful. Sure, he peed outside the lines a couple times but never maliciously. He will be missed.

Always a sobering reminder that we never know when someone's final day comes. Be thoughtful and kind to one another. What we say and do matters and has impact, whether in person or behind a keyboard.

RIP brother.

There are lines we have to pee in now? Will the rules never end?
