Different strokes for different folks. Some people just like the Barry Sanders, Marcus Allen, Bo Jackson, Curtis Martin, Marshall Faulk, Jerry Rice, etc. types who act like they've been there before. Some like the Muhammad Ali, Deion Sanders, Ocho Cinco, T.O. types that talk for attention. People that talk become a target and sometimes say stupid stuff. I like Richard Sherman the player, I like him for what he does for kids and aspiring young adults, and I'm learning to look the other way when he says stupid stuff.

I'm far from old lol.

Maybe its just the athlete in me that doesn't like the talk because I know he just puts a target on himself and I won't be shocked when he gets cheap shotted in the knees for it some day. I just want him to play and not be targeted. Anyone who has played high level sports knows exactly what I'm talking about. I just hope karma isn't a bitch for Sherman.

Back to the beginning of this thread though I love that he's helping this guy out. And I love that he is helping other people too.

Great players on great teams. Ali being the exception, none did it on their own, even Ali needed Dundee to save him in the Liston fight when he was blinded. In fact none of them won without a good team. I don't know what the point is here. I never tried to say you can't have a great career and talk too. If you don't get the target on your back you probably never played.

Yeah, that's generally how it works. Even quiet gentlemen need to be on good teams to win titles. I think you might have been a bit immature in your "playing days." True professional athletes don't let trash talk affect the way they play the game.

I think it was the Saints linebacker that just retired who took out Steve Smiths knees. Scott Fujita I think. Its on youtube. Maybe he took Gregg Williams words a little too seriously lol. I swear on my grandma's grave that even if that precise call had gone to another team in the NFL that day I would still feel that very same way you do. Whatever you do, you don't want to confuse the rest of the world with the facts. They've already made up their mind considering it the worst call ever. :roll: :roll: :roll:

This is the truth and nothing but the truth. When this discussion is had with other teams fans around, it's best to just stay quiet. The reason no real ref backed the call up was because it was used as weapon against the replacement refs and it worked in the real refs's favor.

Glad to see Sherm is doing the right thing!

Sherman knows what the greatest smackers know . . . that if opponents are targeting him, they are either distracted from their jobs or neglecting someone else. And as long as he does his job, he's bi-winning!

Actually Smokin is 100% right about the call. He got the possession correct, the part he and the other official missed was the blatant push off by Tate, which was offensive PI but it is rarely called, and it went our way so what evs!
