It did get me thinking though, is Deon Butler still in the league?

Would have LOVED to see a trade for Josh Gordon, but rumor was that they wanted a first and we've only got $2m in free cap, so not sure it'd be possible?

They need to rollover space for current Seahawks. Really wasn't feasible.

Gordon is in a 4 year 5.34 million dollar contract through 2015

As this this could be a wrap for his career, and very likely his last game as a Seahawks, I'd like to pay the man my respects. He's had an injury plagued career, but he's a talented gritty player who took the shots yet hung on to make the catch time and again. No whining, no juvenile antics, no diva stuff. Pro football is a man's game and he played it like one.

Sexy Braylon Edwards is still available....

But seriously, I wonder about Phil Bates. I liked him. Big tough WR. Obo's out there too. I'm sure they'll do something.

Losing Rice isn't a big statistical loss...but it is a big loss in terms of the make up of the receiving core...

And Kearse dropped one that Russell put right on his hands.

Great. He had better get it going in a hurry.
Kearse has already shown that he's capable of making some big plays, and those passes that get dropped ever so often?, that happens to ALL, not some, but ALL good Receivers , EVEN happened to Rice.......Both Sidney and Jerry.

It will be interesting to see if and how they address the loss of Rice. Bryan Walters is on the active roster. Arceto Clark did look good in the pre-season. I know... pre-season. Still, gotta give him some credit. He was targeted often and seemed like he made it easy for RW to find him.

Signing/poaching another team's practice squad player means the player must remain on the active roster for 3 weeks, correct? Bringing in someone new might be tough. But, if they do... Corey Fuller (currently on the Detroit Lions PS and a rookie out of Virginia Tech) intrigued me pre-draft. He's got great speed and seemed to make accelerated improvements to his game. http://www.detroitlions.com/news/articl ... 0cf166839c He's said to be raw (perhaps not as raw as his lack of experience suggests), but I think this guy is putting in the work and would be worthwhile.

I haven't looked through this entire thread, but does anyone have footage of when he got injured? I just want to see what happened.

Baldwin made a pretty strong suggestion that Lockette will be called up to backfill Rice.

I think it was the play where he was standing on the sideline staring at Wilson as he tried to escape another sack. He's a beast at those decoy routes. We'll certainly miss his presence as a decoy.

don't talk out your ass

Since we weren't willing to pay Mike Rob the 2.5 million this year, no, i don't think i'm talking out of my ass when i suggest Seahawks won't pay a 6th wide receiver 2.5 over the next two years at 1.14 and 1.46 million when Rice was healthy and Harvin was due back from injury when it's clear you want to keep cap space clear to attempt or evaluate whether to re-sign players like Tate, Baldwin, Sherman, Thomas, Wilson and Okung. It seems pretty reasonable to opine that to that's it's not feasible to give up a 1st and a couple million against the cap when you wouldn't do that to wait for MRob to get back to playing weight and not have a 1st Rd pick two years in a row barring a trade down.

But of course for me to think that way i must be talking out of my ass and not given a whole 5 minutes to the idea that we probably weren't willing to deal for Josh Gordon 3 days before a handsomely paid starting Wide Receiver goes down with a season ending injury.

Or you know, you could have just said, "I disagree."

SportsCenter just showed a clip on how Rice was injured. This was on the 1st and goal shitty plays that Bevell called. It happened when Wilson tried to rush in the right side of the endzone and landed on Rice's leg (Rice was blocking a DB and he screamed)

If Bevell just called a Lynch run on the 1 yard line this would of not happened.

That knowledge is making it very hard for me to not join the Bevell Hate Club. I want to wait until I see how he utilizes Percy before I sign up though.

You mean the play where Pete Carroll (THE SEAHAWKS COACH) said that Russell Wilson was suppose to hand the ball off to Marshawn Lynch but messed up?

Yeah that one. But we're supposed to blame Bevell only. Get with the program!
