We don't know the structure.
I'll bet anybody, a beer, that it ends up being more cap friendly than not.

I'm openly laughing at the people on this forum who think they can watch a broadcast of a professional football game on TV, and think that makes them an expert on professional football scouting, coaching and management.
It is literally the equivalent of some stoner watching a heart surgery on cable TV, and then pontificating to their elderly father on why he shouldn't have that triple bypass. Never mind your cardiologist... I watch cable TV, I'm an expert!!
Simple fact - you and Scotte and everyone else on this forum doesn't have the slightest shred of knowledge about our players or how they perform, or how they will be graded by the coaching staff. Sure, you know when someone's really good (Wilson) or really bad (Whitehurst). But outside of those very extremes, you literally don't know anything. And it's hilarious listening to you guys pontificate as if you really do know what you're talking about. As if you are qualified to comment on any contract. You don't speak to the agents, you don't speak to the coaches, you don't speak to the scouts. You don't have the first clue what that player's value is, and it's hilariously pretentious to even pretend that you do. Especially when you add the passive-agressive attempts at martyrdom.
I'll be excited about the signing because Pete Carroll is excited about it. Pete Carroll has won multiple championships at multiple levels of the sport. He will be in the Hall of Fame. People will talk about his greatness 50 years after his death. You are a random nobody on the internet. I'll stick with the people who get paid for their expertise, and that doesn't include anyone on this forum.
So leave me out of your quest, Quixote.
You still think the Cards will win the West?
Isn't Von miller in his first contract?cdallan":4lk5unlr said:Per overthecap.com, the raw numbers would make KJ the highest paid 4-3 OLB in the NFL. He would be getting paid more than Von Miller...
I hope that contract is being misreported.

Another valid point and good post. But, is that all? Maybe a generalized shot at the "haters"?

Your point doesn't matter. That was then this is now. The cap is getting higher and higher with every year. Players now will make more than players did last year, the year before and so on because teams have more money to spend.cdallan":3qxyxld4 said:seahawkfreak":3qxyxld4 said:Isn't Von miller in his first contract?cdallan":3qxyxld4 said:Per overthecap.com, the raw numbers would make KJ the highest paid 4-3 OLB in the NFL. Yes, but he was, what, the fourth pick in the draft, is in the last year of his regular rookie contract, and is probably the best 4-3 LB in the league.
Still, the point I was making is that this may make KJ the highest paid 4-3 OLB in the league.
All 3 are under contract for 2015...rcaido":1czfgr83 said:I thought about it man i still dont like it....If not money for the OL, what about Lynch? Our main focus should be w/ Wagner, Wilson, & Lynch.

I guess that is part of it for me too. OLB is a bit fungible. Not for Curry, but for most.Tical21":zgglac44 said:Not a KJ Hater by any stretch, actually think he is one of the best 4-3 OLB's in the game without question.
That said, there is no reason I ever (well, almost ever, Von Miller is pretty sweet) pay a 4-3 OLB this kind of money. It just isn't necessary. The difference between KJ and the average 4-3 OLB is pretty negligible. IMO there are at least 18 more important positions in your starting lineup.
I don't think this costs them Russell or Wagner, but I do think it costs them any chance at bringing in a stud WR (not that they really had a great chance at doing so anyways) or a big name interior lineman.
