Rapoport: Carroll gets contract extension

Loved watching Coach Carroll dominate at USC (my mom's a huge Trojans fan) and I've REALLY enjoyed watching him here in Seattle. His defenses have been sensational, and you have to love his commitment to the run game. He's shown that he can win (and keep winning) with this formula, as well as do it in a dominating fashion. Give him a QB (THANKS RUSSELL!) and watch out, we'll start hearing from cry babies (like Diaper Time down in SC and Pampers down in NOLA) complain about running up the score.

In all the hoopla about all the other contracts and extensions - there was little to no talk about the fact that Carroll was going into his last year of his original contract; let me just say that I am glad the organization did not forget this.

Definitely the MOST important contract extension we could have signed this off-season.

I think it speaks to my confidence in our leadership that I never questioned whether PC would get extended. My only question was when/if he wants to retire.

I am really glad this is happening. There are many things that made a difference to the success of the Seahawks, but the biggest one is Pete Carroll.

When PC stated that the Hawks are just getting started, I think he was serious. I think this guy sees something that we could never understand and that he knows he can engineer a very strong run as the leader of the Seahawks. I want this to be his last job.

Makes sense given Pete's age, though I could see him coaching another 10+ years if he wanted.
