Rays fans are crushed by the trade. From the DRaysBay site article on the trade:

"All told, this is not a blockbuster return for the team’s most popular player, who had multiple outfield sections dedicated to him as Randy Land.

The Rays postseason hero was not a repeat All-Star this season, due to a slow start to the season, but had batted an extraordinary 166 wRC+ since June 1, and was well on his way to a fourth consecutive 20 HR/20 SB season."

The. very tradable title was given by baseball insiders from MLB.com teams don’t care about the media or fans. Arozarena isn’t making that much for it to be a salary dump, he is 29 so not a spring chicken. IMO it’s more team management saying to fans “ see we are trying” one positive is he is under team control until 2027

Arozarena + Julio instantly makes us one of the better outfields in the A.L. (if healthy).

I hope we can land Vladdy Jr. even at the cost of Miller +/ Woo + prospects.

His overall numbers on the season don't look very good because he had a very poor April and May, but he has been very, very good since May.

I like this trade a lot, especially for what they gave up for him. I would have been over the moon if they somehow could have gotten Isaac Paredes as well.
