So elite is being thrown around all Willy nilly lately and I ask myself what really makes a guy elite?

My top hmmm 3 things, cause I wanna say more but,
1. Talent
2. Humility
3. Fight to the death

Humility has nothing to do with eliteness. Deion Sanders was an elite corner. Dude doesn't have an ounce of humility.

Current elite QBs: Mahomes, Burrow, Jackson, Allen. All capable of carrying the team to the playoffs with limited talent. Burrow only missed the last 2 years because of GARBAGE level defense. Hurts isn't elite because I have yet to see him in that gear. He is surrounded by elite talent. So was Purdy in his first 2 years.

I disagree because humility puts the team first like Jalen Hurts so to me a real elite qb has humility, I know I didn’t say elite qb but I probably shoulda cause that’s what I was thinking

Was tom Brady humble when he took less money to help the team? I get it though humility is not necessary to be elite, but the attitude you get from a humble guy helps the team. And a humble leader is the kind people fight for. I think Josh Allen is a humble leader too and if I could pick one qb that’s my guy

I bet Deion is more humble behind closed doors and I bet shedeur is too and that’s why you see so many of their peers looking to follow them. I heard that Shedeur’s teammates really love him

Mahomes: elite arm angles and accuracy,
Elite relationship between him and his coach and scheme. Fight to the death yes, humility enhh, he’s kinda entitled, elite experience

Allen: elite arm, elite will power. Elite ball carrier. Leads by total example. Fight to the death. Strong relationship with his coach

Jackson: elite arm strength, elite ball carrier and speed, leads by example, fight to the death strong relationship and scheme with his coach

Geno: good arm strength, good accuracy, struggles to lead accepts excuses, does not fight to the death, no real coach connection

Coaching and consistency is such a huge part of a player reaching their potential. What if what if what if, so many players might have different careers if Andy Reid or John harbaugh were there coach and teacher

To be an elite QB you have to be significantly better than nearly all your piers.

No. Brady was being smart, not humble. He was making way more in endorsements and his side businesses than the team could pay him. Not to mention he was married to a supermodel with a higher net worth than he had at the time. He took "less money" as a strategic path to getting a better team around him.

When he won the super bowl with the Bucs, he had (up to that point) the highest percentage of the salary cap going to his salary than any previous super bowl winner. So much for "taking less money".

You can be a total ass hat and be elite at your position and I would guess a much higher percentage are vs not since ego does play a big part in being elite
