My God man you'd think we were three and and seven rather than seven and three my God we haven't needed safety Diggs is a well-known quantity yeah maybe he didn't play well his last year here this is a different team so let's enjoy this success that we're having quit worrying about a safety that we signed because we've lost two safeties to injury come on get real guys by the way I trust Mike and John's judgment they got us to seven and three and there's more to come

I don’t see how anyone can be excited about this move.

The last season he was here, he gave half hearted effort on tackling attempts, had consistently poor effort and was a complete liability. Guys like him led to the dismissal of Carroll.

This reeks of a Schneider decision. I can only imagine how upset coach Macdonald really is about it. Talk about a culture vulture of a signing

We're projecting here if we are going to assume what the Head Coach is feeling about this.

He didn’t play well his last year here because…

-he didn’t care?
-he was starting to show his age?
-now he’s even older.
-he started to lose his quickness?
-wasn’t a scheme fit?

I think most Seahawks fans were ready to be rid of him. I for one hope to God he isn’t needed on the field.

I really doubt that Schneider is adding guys that Macdonald isn't on board with. PFF (the metric we have available to us) gives him a 66.1 for the year, ranking 39th out of 94 safeties. He was released by Tennessee at his request while Tennessee starts playing its younger guys. He's clearly a depth signing at an injury-plagued position, not their big offseason splash FA move.

Aside, Carroll led to the dismissal of Carroll, which we continue to see with his 2-9 record on that decrepit, poorly-coached Las Vegas team.

I think there's probably a lot of guys that didn't care in petes last 3 or so years of saying the same thing and not evolving and with some of the guys he was around giving a schmidt it seemed like he wasn't the only one
Those days are gone and i think anybody can see it so i expect a little giv a damn out of him and wouldn't be surprised if he kicked a little ass
Fingers crossed over and over lol
Good luck nino and make us proud or go away into that good night
Ya never know , this might get him a better than vet min contract next year
Go Hawks

One of the first moves that the team made when Macdonald was sworn into power was the immediate releases of Diggs and Adams. That’s what tells me that this wasn’t a Macdonald decision.

Mark my words, this move will result in negative shockwaves throughout the organization.

There are good employees that can become detached or even become negative, bad apples when the culture and leadership of an organization fails for an extended period. Sure, one can uphold the examples of high character guys who bring their lunch pails everyday and toil under misguided organizations that squander good players talent and effort, because it's the right thing to do. But not all disgruntled employees are bad. Some are justified in their feelings. Diggs always struck me as a guy who gave all of himself to the game. In his early years, he made our defense go and you could see the difference when he was on the field. To draw correlation between him getting paid and his drop in performance is speculation on par with aligning Russell Wilson's decline with him getting with Ciara. I think Diggs just got fed up with what he saw as a franchise with no future, with a DC who was his leader and was unqualified, and a HC who was blind to the fact that the team was t going anywhere. To me, it's entirely reasonable for a guy who is putting his livelihood on the line in a sport where his career can be over in an instant to no longer feel inspired to go 200% full tilt, to make tackles in a system that was broken and not salvageable, regardless of how much effort he gave. Why would he? Sometimes it's the guys who in the end say 'F this BS, Im not going down for this nonsense ' who are the ones who - if they can correct their perspective and find their fire again- you want when the situation is rectified.

I think QDiggs is that guy. And more than that, like others have said, he isn't being brought here to save the D. He is a depth piece who brings in the field leadership and experience.

The timing of this is hilarious. Macdonald said in his presser today that the whole building is hyped to have him back. Me thinks some folks project too much.

Coach also said that Love won’t be back this week. Ty is day to day and not practicing today. I think Diggs gets called up this week to help out.

Maybe their "immediate" release had more to do with salary cap issues than performance/attitude. When Mike came in, the team obviously needed a rebuild and the cap was a bit of a mess. They needed to dump salary and Adams and Diggs were two of the highest paid guys. 🤷‍♂️

I think this reveals that he did not watch MacDonald's presser. LOL

It's not like there are lots of great options available in late November for emergency replacement duty that are ready to step in and play in an NFL game right now.

This isn't something they wanted to do. It's something they needed to do because of injuries.

Why wouldn't this be a Macdonald decision? GM's have a longer-term lens when adding players and a salary management lens when cutting players. Coaches want the best 53 to win in the current year. What does Schneider get out of adding Diggs for the remainder of this year (at most)?

Schneider gets the satisfaction of maintaining control over Macdonald.

I get the feeling that Schneider is a bit jealous of Macdonalds success this season, so he had to reassert himself into the dominant role to show coach “who’s boss.”

I mean we got him from the Lions at the time Detroit was willing to either cut him or get something in return. I always thought of Diggs as an ok safety but we have a head hunter mentality in our secondary. Diggs now should be low man on the totem pole but if he wants to ride our coattails to another Lombardi then I hope he does it from the bench. He doesn’t hit like any of our current safeties. Hoping Okada has a quick recovery he’s irreplaceable even as a backup

Why would Schneider be jealous of MacDonald's success? MacDonald's success is also Schneider's success. They're both part of the same team trying to accomplish the same thing.
