I voted Baldwin, Richardson looks fragile ,Sherman an injury risk nobody wants to take, I would like Christine to get the running and return job.

I initially said Richardson, but I would LIKE to see CMike get some tries. I want that kid on the field!

PRich gets my vote.

I'll be a bit surprised if he doesn't get a chance to compete for, and win the PR job.

Percy never has... and there likely is a good reason.

Dougie is a good fallback if nobody else steps up.

Michael is a wildcard here... what kind of hands does he have?... and how well can he get his body in position to make the catches? Don't think that we see too many RBs as PRs. (off the cuff remark btw)

Baldwin IMO will ultimately win it. He's a quicker Engram back there. Though with Richardson's speed, could also see him get back there. We shall see

The #1 punt returner right now is Phillip Adams. Richardson does not have the frame to take the pinball pounding that punt returners regularly take in heavy traffic, nor does he have any experience returning punts (and spare me the "Desean Jackson says Hi" replies; Paul Richardson is not Desean Jackson, particularly as a proven punt returner). The only other potentially viable option from the OP's list is Doug Baldwin, and that's it. Harvin is absolutely not an option. Jeremy Lane could get a look, and Christine Michael would be a long-shot option. Again, for now, it's Adams' job to lose.

You realize the only reason Richardson DIDNT return kicks/punts in college was because he literally was the Colorado offense right?

The Desean Jackson comparisons are very very accurate. You should probably get used to them because you will hear them a lot in the coming months.

You're right. The vast majority of punt returns are WRs. But there are a few RBs who return punts, such as LaMichael James, Marcus Thigpen, Darren Sproles, etc.

From February...

Besides route running, Richardson has been working on his return skills in hopes he can get on the field as a rookie.

"I'm looking forward to it," he said. "I can do punt returns. I can do kick returns. The only reason I didn't do it in college was because the coaches didn't want me out there and risking much. But scouts have come and seen me do it in practice and not drop a ball and not miss a beat, so I'm looking forward to being a punt returner or kick returner, or both, in the NFL."

It will be the guy who can track and catch punts from NFL punters, which is skill not many actually have. It will be the guy who has nerves of steel.

nobody knows who that guy is.

What was that noise?

<gets up and checks out noise, comes back>

Its all good, it was just a bunch of biased perceptions shattering...

People need to quit being so naive...

1) Because you don't do something during the game doesn't mean you can't practice and have that skill in your back pocket.

2) Some of the best punt returners in the NFL throughout history have small, slender frames and weigh less than 190.

I see a lot of comments about injury risks .

No "good" coach worries about injuries. Injuries happen on any given play/ practice. For a coach to look at his team and say we don't want you to get hurt but you can go get hurt is ridiculous.

want proof ? who was our kick returner last season ? wait wasn't Harvin and Rice both injured so why would we risk Tate ? well because he was our best option.

Whoever deserves to be the kick returner will be . I believe it will be Doug Baldwin .

I'll give Baldwin the edge over Richardson just because
he really has no drop history......and he's Angry Doug Baldwin.

We can use Richardson once he gets his feet wet in the league.
