Nah, you good.
Pete is a beloved figure for all of us 12s. No matter our debates over his coaching, over-loyalty, being out-coached X's and O's-wise at times, nobody can argue the run of success he had as our Head Coach. His positivity and leadership will resonate for decades.
What he would be teaching is how to be a success no matter what your endeavors. He is an incredible life coach. That alone should warrant a spot as a teacher to young folks. Anybody can go out and find a job, scrape by, pay your bills, et al. How do you go beyond that and excel at life?
I think Pete is more than qualified to help answer that question.
Probably his best quality is that he saw, respected and honored each individual and let them be who they were. Cultivating a culture of respect with one common focus to succeed. Some coaches want to mold people, change them to be what their definition of success is. It's why Lynch loved playing here. Lynch would have bottomed out big time in many other coaching systems.
So yes, there is a lot that young people can discern from Pete Carroll. Not just how to win football games but to win at life.
