I'm still in the corner or thinking Waldron wasn't bad and that Pete had him curtailed. I'm anxious to see how he does in Chicago to see if my theory was right.
I don't believe Pete curtailed him but I understand the opinion,I'd have
the same thought but I didn't feel like Beval or Shotty was bad at all
when compared to Waldron.
As you stated on seeing how Waldron does in Chicago, I know a lot of us
will be watching to see how that goes.

Yeah, it's all hypothetical, but I thought Bevell was bad and the Hawks had so much talent that they overcame him for the most part. I liked Shotty. He and Pete didn't see eye to eye though. Waldron,,,,I don't know. I truly believe what we saw during his first ever game was what he intended for his tenure here, but I still believe Pete pulled in the reins for some reason. Who knows. I don't think we'll ever know.

ZBS as not Carroll’s system it has been around since post WWII to combat the pre snap movements of defensive linemen. Alex Gibbs perfected it. The wide zone became popular in the late 80s using Icky Woods. Gibbs was able to study under Joe Gibbs and Joe Bugel that were running a system they called wide gap. in 1995 Gibbs got a job with Denver where Mike Shanahan wanted to use the system at that time it was joked that any RB could get 1000 yards behind the Denver O line. Gibbs finally found his way to Seattle in 2010 but left soon due to health issues, it’s a case of what could have been
Carroll didn't invent it, but it was his system of choice, used it in USC and Seattle. He asked Gibbs to come to Seattle to implement it and he left shortly as you described.

Saw Grubb saying he's not scared to throw to RB's. I think the Seahawks were about last in RB's pass catching in recent years. He got the best out of some limited RB's at Washington. I think he's going to be a kid at Christmas with Walker and Charbonnet and I think we could see them put up monster numbers.

Between that and it sounding like JSN has been a monster at OTA's and poised for a breakout year has me really excited for the season ahead.

It's ridiculous how little they use screen passes etc. Let the RB's get one on one out in space. Good luck. Hoping this changes, a lot.

I blame scheme and boring predictability over the personnel.

Running K9 up the gut out of singleback formation from the 4 was always a palm to face moment.

On offense, definitely, with the exception of possibility of the O-line being questionable, talent-wise.

We've had some killer skill position players on O for a while now that seem to have been under utilized. Really hopeful to see a creative college guy get the reins.

Earl Campbell was the original bruising RB looking for contact he only lasted 8 years and has post career injuries which include arthritis that is so bad he couldn’t close his hand to make a fist at age 46, foot drop due to nerve damage in his legs and spinal stenosis. In 2009 he was taking OxyContin as many as 10 a day with Budweiser, he went into rehab the same year
Jeeeeeezus. Thats crazy!!

I’d think he could’ve afforded a better beer!

Wilson could not get the ball to the RB adequately in stride, every time we ran it the RB had to wait for the ball to get there and was almost immediately contained for little, no gain or a loss. That and Wilson had to drop back and fade to avoid the rush and get a lane to pass.
