"From what I saw, I think the Donks were ready for that level of intensity. Infact, they had every intention of coming out and making their own point in that game... they just got their asses kicked.

And what everyone's seeing is that our 3's are better than everyone else's 2's (and 1's in some cases)."

This is true. And it is depth that grinds out victories over the long haul of the misty dawns of winter while the opponents are puking blood and ligiments into hellish Fieldturf of Qwest Field.

Hate to break it to you, but we didn't exactly light up Manning last week..........and that was at home with an inferior Denver O-Line.

Rodgers is even more mobile than Manning, and he's at home with a better line. IMO we're gonna have a hard time pressuring anyone until we get Avril, Clem and Irvins out there consistently. Until then we'll have to rely on our LB's and DB's.

I don't know about that. The GB offensive line looks to have gotten worse since last year. Bulaga was the Packers' starting left tackle, and he wasn't very good as a right tackle. He's also out. Green Bay has one lineman who isn't a turnstile.

Packers line was trash before and its even more trash now with Bulaga out for the year. If this was a regular season game you could guarantee 4 sacks each for avril, irvin, and clemons. Can't be discouraged by our pass rush so far this preseason because we havent even fielded a single passrusher other than bennett, let alone gameplanned and shown anything resembling our actual regular season defense

Offense was very vanilla. Marshawn had 2 carries. Michael didn't even play. The D did not bring very many "exotic" looks to pressure Manning.

It was simply individuals winning their matchup battles, and doing so with a high level of intensity.

Exactly. We're rushing 4, almost every time. We blitzed Manning once, and he made us pay for it, but you still have to practice some blitzes and stunts in the regular season; this was where Wagner got that good hit on Manning.

We'll have some WRs run some combo routes and have guys work on stuff, but we won't see any new wrinkles to the offense. Teams can get enough tape on us from the last 2 years of Bevell, so it's not like we're trying to hide anything.

The two biggest reasons I've seen teams excel in the preseason are:

Superior depth. It kinda goes hand in hand with a superior starting unit, but good depth can win you games from behind in preseason, or hold leads that a good starting unit got you.

Game planning. There are teams (hello ! Oakland Raiders) that will gameplan. They're so bad, they want some sort of momentum for new or younger guys (or even vets used to losing) going into the season. Teams try to build a winning culture and that can start in the preseason. Fisher and the Rams are a good example. Also, really bad teams a lot of times want to practice game planning to get a running start on the season.

We're definately not game planning; our guys are competing for jobs...even many of the starters. We are a hungry team with swagger and intensity. It's possible we're sending a message, or it's possible we're just that mean. I hope for more of the latter.

Manning is the anti-mobile QB. Rodgers can scramble pretty good but as far as GB's line being good, not really feeling that, isn't that the team we sacked 8 times in the half last year?

Still better than Denver's line that was missing their starting center, and their starting left tackle and best blocking TE didn't even suit up.

My point is don't claim we're gonna sack the crap out of Rodgers on the road when our starters have barely sniffed opposing QB's thus far in the pre-season.

With our experience as Seattle fans it's hard to get behind what the team did at the end of last year. We are so cautious.

PC tried to manage games 1-6, then he cut them loose and we saw something we have never seen before..EVER. How they do it I don't care, so i'm not critical at all of a 40-10 beat down of Denver. Yes Manning did what we know he can do, and the hawks found other ways to do what they do. I see a team that put up..70? in the first two preseason games doing exactly what they did last year. Win big!. Yes teams will get yards on the Hawks, throw over the middle and exploit the run D. Then get beat 40-10.

This is ball kicking beat down football and I'm in

I don't get all the "we smashed the Bronco's" stuff. Like the game against the ninnirs we got some great defensive breaks and turned them into points and those changed the game for both teams.

I agree with Harbaugh when he said that blocked field goal was a turning point against them. A big difference between being down 14-3 to being down 21-zip.

Don't get me wrong, I loved it and we played well but we have to remember we aren't always going to get those breaks like we did against the ninnirs and the broncos. If either of those teams scored at that critical time it could have changed the entire complex of the game.

This GB game will be a barn burner for at least the half with the first team starters for both teams. The last game with GB they negated our pass rush and went to dink and dunk and remember took the lead. Plus this time they have their home fans behind them

I doubt they take the times first strings are working together as a pre season game. And if we do lose I hope we have more class than they showed at the end of that game last year.

And remember,,,,,,no matter how we build this up,,,,,,its just a pre-season game.

^you sound like Bayless a little Les. You make fair points about breaks but when we continually "catch lucky breaks," at what point is it us creating our own luck? We did it 3 games in a row. Maybe coaching all three phases is paying off.

True -- and there were other games last year that we won in a similar fashion.

But I'm coming to realize that that's what makes this team great. We can score quickly; we can score defensively; we can score on special teams. I don't think this is an accident at all. It means, among other things, that we can survive an off day by at least one of those units. Turnovers don't always bounce your way -- sure -- but when you have a ball-hawking team, and all your DBs can take it to the house, you will score defensive TDs.

Radish is correct.

That said, even without the ultra clutch fumble they had, the score still would have been 33-17, and 26-14 at the half. Seattle did an outstanding job forcing turnovers, and that was basically the difference in the game. It was a tight game when Manning was in there, but when he left midway through the 2nd quarter it pretty much became a mercy killing. Especially by good team standards, Denver has zero depth and you got the sense Seattle would have put up 50 if they weren't just trying to run out the clock the entire 2nd half.

The Broncos have some similarities to Atlanta, and Seattle took Atlanta to the cleaners in the 4th quarter. The Seahawks always seem to wear down finesse teams by the end, so I think if they met in the Super Bowl, the Broncos would need to jump ahead early and build a huge buffer to survive the same way Atlanta did against us or Baltimore did against SF.

Confidence and belief in being great is growing on the whole team due to RW's confidence/beliefs. RW's example of hard work and attention to details is rubbing off on the whole team. That is the true definition of a leader.

Seahawk fans have suffered enough over the years, this year will be the first in a long stretch of dominance over every other NFL team. I guarantee it. I say 14-2 is the minimum for the regular season 'cause when I look at the schedule, I don't see any losses at all but there are 3 or 4 games that could be close, most of the rest will be blowouts. Go Hawks.

14-2 is the minimum?? I'd like to be smokin' some of that stuff! Until we establish that we can play on the road and beat good, let alone mediocre teams, on the road, I will be thrilled with 10 wins.... If we win 14 games, I will tattoo my nuts green and blue! lol

I feel sorry for you and the unfortunate tattoo artist...should be a small job though.
