LOL, Sherman...

"He definitely deserves an apology, and my bad on that.”

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2 ... n-apology/

Just confirms what I've always said about Sherm. If there is no chip on his shoulder, he'll create one out of whole cloth. It's how he amps up. I love him, doesn't mean I don't see through him.
Pretty much exactly how I view him. I don’t even dislike him, but am aware how he is and how he does things.
Now that he is with the digits I hope he gets burned on every play. ......but I’m thankful for his play here.
No Sherman = no Lombardi in the trophy case.

Welp, gratz to the Rams, they likely win on Sunday.

Mike McGlinchey out 4-6 weeks. That's the 49ers down BOTH starting tackles, their FB and starting corner.

I only hope Garoppolo survives the experience.

A good defense can keep games close. Right now, they've given no reason to doubt them.

So the excuses are coming out already? They were likely to lose to the Rams WITH him. Hawks fans are always being told to not use injuries as an excuse, the same applies here.

I'm making no excuse. Injuries are a part of the game. I'm sayin' this one is the straw that broke the camels back. Expecting a loss isn't an excuse, its realizing the reality of the situation. I had hopes that after the massive injuries of the last two years and a complete revamp of the training staff, we might get lucky this year. Not so much.

Down 1 tackle, they can chip and rotate blocking schemes. They can help the LT. Now, not only did they lose one of the guys who would be tasked with helping the rookie LT, now they are out the RIGHT TACKLE as well. Worse yet, they lost their swing tackle in preseason, so they'll be trotting out their 4th and 5th tackles.

The Rams will stack the box to stop the run and blitz like crazy, and those tackles won't hold up.

Sigh. I really hope I'm wrong. If the Niners win this one....wow. That'll be something. Its on that D-Line to win it.

As for "likely to lose to the Rams WITH him", maybe, but they stood a much better chance.

I'm not hopeful.

This is what can kill teams. Multiple injuries to a single position group.

On Monday night, Shanahan said that “we would have put McGlinchey back in if the game was close.” No one was expecting this.Honestly, I don't know why teams DON'T pull more of their healthy starters once garbage time is clearly in place

On the upside, Skule really hasn't needed the assistance people thought he would, and Shan's been thinking of these plays since Staley has been hurt. It does mean JimmyG has to release earlier (which he was at the beginning of the season but now seems to be holding the ball more).

The 9ers don't have cap space but they do have CJB still sitting behind Mullens (and it was close between them). I can see them trading him for a tackle to teams already on QB2 with no insurance or even to shaky QB1 teams who tested out their QB2 (like Pats did vs Jets) and who then figured they needed a vet presence.

Lol nice trolling, but losing BOTH tackles (and the back up to both of them), and a skill position guy who plays 55% of your offenses snaps is going to hurt the offense quite a bit.

If you think that's trolling, you're oversensitive.

No excuses, shit happens. As fans we're getting use to it. Hopefully the next man up will do the job. Injury bug can hit anytime. If I were you guys I wouldn't be flipping too much shite about it, karma is a B!

Cap space isn't an issue at all. Finding an available tackle is. Shanahan was asked about trades and while he didn't say they wouldn't deal, he did say there wasn't really anything out there.

When asked about Trent Williams specifically, he said he wasn't allowed ot speak on it but that he'd heard what everyone else had and that it wasn't an option.

I hate to do it to ya 5_Golden_Rings, but I tend to agree.

There are some trolls in here, but I don't really think that was an example of it.

Trent hasn't been available due to WSH's FO and especially Snyder, but if they actually tank against MIA (who actually is trying to tank) I'd expect an attitude shift pretty quickly.

I expect one of the reasons Shan said that at that time had to do with chemistry. You get talent like that, you don't release them. So then someone who was clicking with the team might have to be cut sooner than what the team wanted even though he was basically OK. That was more true then than now, though, esp if they waive/trade CJB or perhaps Solly.

From what I've seen, the OL functions more as a unit than any other positional group. IOW, if this was Bosa, obviously more concern, but with OLs you can shift to the left/right/put extra help (well that's getting somewhat thin) in place. Remember Jordan Devey (the tuba player) who was in with I think Jonathan Martin? Released, everyone thought he was a disaster, but he did ok with Raiders until getting hurt this season, five years later.

I think it's fixable for the next few weeks though not necessarily in the next four days sadly. I say that b/c I'd rather contend with them then against the Rams.

Losing to the Bucs and barely escaping the Steelers, Bengals, and Rams doesn’t count? Because what, reputation? The 49ers didn’t lose to the Bucs.

Word of advice....Do some research before you post. Seahawks haven’t lost to the Bucs either.

Brown hurt and they put in Fant, Iupati hurt and they put in Jones, down our FS, yet we managed to squeak it out oh and Reed on suspension.

But go ahead your hurt you will loose.

Not that anyone else deals with issues.

I believe I said no excuses and injuries are a part of the game...and I don't recall suggesting nobody else is dealing with injuries.

I simply think that losing both McGlinchey and Juszczyk in the same game might be a bridge to far.

I'd also be really, really happy to be wrong.
