Pre-combine mock draft (two rounds)

If you like mock drafts, here's another mock draft.

The mocks we do here generally look at situations. ‘Who will be available at #25 if a certain team drafts a certain player.’ You know the drill by now.

This weeks projection is different. Sure, there are scenarios we can point to — such as Ziggy Ansah going in the top ten or two quarterbacks going early. But the idea this week is to compare how things look before and after the combine. So I’ve tried to make a projection based on how I see things unfolding in Indianapolis. Who moves up the board. Who falls. We’ll see how accurate it is next week.

I could live with that draft, but passing on Hopkins would bum me out a bit.

I could get behind this draft. I personally like Arthur Brown better than Greene, but i see the obvious fit with Greene in our system. That would be the only change I would personally make but I can see Seattle liking Greene a lot too. I know a lot of people are very high on Hopkins on this board and I do like him, but i absolutely love the depth at WR in this draft and think that there will be a stud in round two. Haven't seen the depth at WR like this in recent memory. If we could snag Stedman Bailey in round two while still getting a starter at another position, I would be very happy with it. Bailey is a stud and honestly I may even like him as much as Hopkins.

Ditto. I want Hopkins more than any prospect in this years draft.

I'm pretty sure Austin will go in round 2 or 3. There is a distinct possibility that no WRs will go in round 1, due to lacking a "superstar" option and it being a ridiculously deep draft at WR.

Patterson is a stone cold lock for round one, probably in the top half at that. Aside from him and possibly Hopkins and/or Allen I would tend to agree though.

So what's wrong with that? 100% of the mock drafts created by people other than John Schneider/Pete Carroll fall into that category. What the creator of the mock wants them to do and not what the Seahawks will do. Only two people know exactly what the Seahawks will do, those aren't the ones putting out mock drafts.

However, I'm sensing that, with how deep this draft is, Schneider would love to trade back into the early second (hoping for Brown, maybe?) and pick up an additional 3rd rounder.

Hey Rob-- is there any chance that Carroll and Schneider see cornerback/nickle specialist as a bigger need than any of us want to acknowledge? Green Bay was always stocking up on DBs when Schneider was there. If Thurmond could stay healthy, I'd feel ok-- but after Sherman and Browner, we are pretty bare/raw.

Since Sherm and Browner are great, many are dismissing the position on the whole.

Kip, IMO there's no way in hell Patterson makes it out of Round 1. He is an enticing player.

Rob, as for Greene-Bailey for us, I wouldn't be shocked with that - although I think that's too high for Greene. But the beauty of it is...Pete and John could care less where someone is "supposed" to be drafted, so he could very well be our pick at #25.

I'm still curious with our extra picks if we are going to do some manuevering.

So a linebacker with two conference defensive player of the year awards, a reputation for being a turnover machine, the heart and soul of his team with a rich passion for the game doesn't sound like a Seahawks pick to you? Not to mention the complete lack of attention he's getting with regards Seattle (see: Carpenter, Irvin) because we all know they only draft guys the media projects...

I think they've shown a desire to draft corners later with a great success rate. They put a request in for the CB Patrick - former third round pick. He went to san Diego. I think they love to get those types of guys later on.
