Well I would be shocked if a single power rankings has us above the Colts.

There you go.

There's another.

Please don't swallow your tongue.

Well, color me shocked. I stil don''t agree with it though. They earned the right to be above us.

Then make your own power rankings and rank us as low as you like. Again, these are subjective and don't have any rules that just because Team A beats Team B, Team A must be ranked higher than Team B.

For evaluating teams and how good they are vs each other on a relative basis, I like Football Outsider's DVOA. That said, the ranking that matters to me is playoff seeding. The rest is gravy IMHO.

TJH's power rankings:

1) Denver
2) Saints
3) Chiefs
4) Colts
...
28) Seahawks
29) 49ers
30) Texans
31) Panthers
32) Jaguars

Chiefs defense looks for real, but have they beaten any quality opponents?

Which is why they are barely a top-10 team. I have them around 8, but they could just as easily be below teams like Cincy and the Ravens.

And the Packers and 9ers are a few highly underrated teams.

As much as I hate WalterFootball, I like his rankings. I feel like he makes legit sense when it comes to 'rankings'....if you actually care about rankings.

Wow, Blue; that's the only writer I've seen that is talking about Denver's craptastic defense. They're tied for 24th in the league right now with Houston, but there is a critical difference there; Houston has faced multiple good teams, and their offense has been putting their defense back out on the field a lot. Denver has faced a bunch of bad teams and one decent team, and their offense has kept their defense incredibly fresh throughout each game.

DVOA just went up. Seahawks still second best team after Denver.

ON defense, the Hawks fell to second for the first time in nearly 16 weeks. KC took that spot.

They earned the right to be above us on their home field. The power rankings would be based on how the teams would fare on neutral turf. That's why we are ranked higher than the Colts. I'd put us 3rd behind Denver and N.O. But I have a feeling N.O, will fall to the Pats this Sunday. I'm hoping.

Good. I don't want the Hawks to be #1 in the power rankings. Too much spotlight and pressure.

Is there anybody here that's NOT expecting the Chiefs to fall apart here right directly? I'm looking forward to their eventual plummet in the power polls. It's kinda weird, but I feel the same way about Denver, Oakland and San Diego. I dunno what it is. They're in the AFC so why would I care? It just seems... Hard Wired for some reason...

It would make a very interesting Super Bowl. Could we shut down that Offense? Or would our Offense be lights-out on that D? Of course, we'd have that whole Peyton Manning (Jerome Bettis) thing to worry about, but let's get there first, then we can watch us get screwed from there...

I know Cowherd is blasted around here, but aside from some of his hyperbole and his insans love affair with Romo and the Cowboys, he is pretty football savvy.

His rankings:

1. Denver
2. New Otleans
3. Seattle
4. Indianapolis

One loss doesnt make a team bad, just makes them human.
The Seahawks still have quite a bit of room to improve, but they also have plenty of TIME to improve.

The pieces are there, get some O line healthy, see what percy can do, and have Russell find his groove, and we start rolling.
It does not hurt at all that our schedule finally softens up for a few weeks . . . 3 of our first 5 games were against undeniably quality opponents, 2 of those on the road, and we went 2-1 on them, then the cupcake Jaguars and a Carolina team that may not be "quality", but was the first game, on the road, early, and they have a stout D line.

I am comfortable with where the team sits now, and will honestly be surprised if they lose 2 more games.

I still think the 9ers and Packers would beat NO and Indy 7 or 8 times out of 10.

The Chiefs had a really good defense last year, so it stands to reason that they can maintain a winning record with the 2011 49ers recipe of Low Risk offense and Efficient Defense.
