All road games are tough, but Thursday games especially so as you have no chance for practice following the previous Sunday game.
NFL decisions are made on the basis of how many dollars they can squeeze out of every aspect of the game. They have isolated every phase of the game to be a separate source of income. Then every stage of production is monetized. They are pricing normal people out of their market and it will inevitably cost them sustainability.

I think the NFL is run by smart people and as along as the vast majority of games are available on free TV, the fans will keep watching.

As for going to games, yeah it's gotten way too expensive. However, until people stop showing up the prices will keep going up.

I'm sure that the players wouldn't mind as Thursday is the day after Xmas. If they flex it to Sunday, they'll get to spend Xmas with their families.
If we play that Sunday they should be out there practicing. If we play Thursday they will likely only be having a meetings and/or walk throughs.

With 8 stand alone games on top of the regular Sunday slate that means 11 of the 16 matchups will be televised. This leaves only 5 total games for regions to opt out of that week. As we are in the playoff hunt I don’t see them moving us at all.

I say this while hoping they do move to Sunday as I’ll be in the UK so a Thursday game is 1 am Friday and a Sunday game would be likely 9 pm.

It's an away game. If we play Thursday as currently scheduled, our guys will have to travel to Chicago at least one day ahead of time on the Wednesday before, perhaps even on Tuesday, so they'll be away from their families on Christmas Day. If we play Sunday, they can travel after Xmas, most likely on Friday, so they'll be home for Xmas.

Still with the small selection of games available to choose from and given the fact we are a current division leader I don’t see how they could flex us out no matter how much I’d like them to

I agree, but that that wasn't my point. My point was that the players most likely would love the Bears game to get flexed to Sunday as they could spend Xmas at home.

But on the other hand, as a team, it might be better for us playing as scheduled as it would give us a mini bye heading into Week 18 at the Rams, which could have playoff implications. And BTW, that game could get flexed ahead a day to Saturday the 4th or to the late slot on the 5th.

And BTW, Green Bay, currently 9-3, is at division rival Minnesota, 9-2, so that game could have huge playoff implications and would be a prime candidate to get flexed into Prime Time.
