Poona Ford ..... an Emerging Force

With Reed suspended from playing in September and great competition among new comers to fill those interior run stopping roles, the stars appear to be aligning for Poona Ford.

In Ford, Carroll sees a player who reminds him of former USC standout Jurrell Casey, who became a four-time Pro-Bowler with the Tennessee Titans. And just as Casey and Reed were able to develop into pass-rushers a couple years into their careers—both recorded 10.5 sacks in their third seasons—Carroll hopes Ford will blossom into a pass-rusher, just a year ahead of that schedule.

Funny how the draft works and guys like Poona have to come into the league underfed when clearly there is a lot of talent there.

Like Doug Flutie has said, "When you are short you have to prove you can play, when you are tall you have to prove you can't"

I'm sure Ugo would be a day one or 2 pick if he was 6'1" rather than 5'9". And if it weren't for Russ, no one's taking Mayfield and Murray in the first round let alone high first round.
