Of course it was an int. Didn't feel like arguing with those who said it wasn't, but now I gotta ask: what were you looking at?

Maybe the NFL should admit their refs are incompetent, and need to do more work during the off season honing their craft ala the players/coaches.

NFL game rewind only shows the two angles for the broadcast. one is inconclusive, the other shows some part of his foot over the line, but from the angle it's not very easy to tell if his foot is actually touching out of bounds, or if it's just part of his shoe overlapping the border while his foot is acutally in-bounds.

If it were called an INT on the field i'm not sure there would have been enough indisputable evidence to overturn it.

Such BS, that call was a massive swing/momentum changing play.

Carey you suck. Serious suckage.

That was a game changing play-as was the one he had in Miami last year that they robbed him of. Lame.

The last post I made in the gameday forum was in regards to that non-INT by Thomas. I could see where they were calling PI closely on the Browner call, and didn't say a word about it, but the Thomas call was a game changer. We should have had the ball and instead they got a lot of yardage and the ball and ended up getting a TD out of it. That one play changes the whole aspect of the game. I couldn't believe there were guys in the forum actually whining about the people complaining about that particular call. It was atrociously bad and ridiculous. The only thing thomas did to "interfere" was catch the ball and I have always just called that DEFENSE. Glad to see the league at least can admit it after the fact, but it is very frustrating to watch it happen in the game and KNOW they blew such a huge call.

At least if we get this officiating crew again this will come up for them and they will hopefully knock off the ticky tacky crap and let them play football.

Considering the long history of completely blown calls by Carey's crew in Seattle games, I'm going to guess it's not going to affect them one bit.

why don't they just fine the refs for making bad calls? if they can fine marshawn for having the wrong color shoes and they can fine a guy for a hit that wasn't even flagged during the game, why don't they hold the officials to the exact same standards? I don't mean the same $$ amounts as refs obviously aren't paid as well as NFL players.

But even if you fined a ref $100 for every bad call, seems like they would have motivation to get the call right.

They get grades.

That's sure to motivate them!

Haha.

I'm just gonna go ahead and point out the elephant in the room, but these pro sports are heavily connected to gambling. every NFL show that talks about some team being a 3 point underdog or 3.5 point favorite are talking about betting spreads. these refs (who don't make as much as the athletes and coaches on the field are more susceptible to tampering and point shaving than anyone else.

who was that basketball ref that was caught fixing games?

I honestly think that if they're going to throw out a flag on a possible 50 yard reception/interference call, overturn a turnover, or in any way effect a scoring play they should review that penalty.

I'm not talking about small penalties. I'm not talking about 5-10 yard PI penalties. But when QBs just throw the ball up for grabs and hope for a flag, that's changing the game. Back yourself up with some video evidence.

Well no shit. Refs have ruined football. Thank God Pete and John have built a juggernaut that not only beats teams but refs. Too bad he can't physically beat them.
