I'm not making any excuses for him, but we have to keep in mind that our starting center Olu went out in the first half and was replaced by a rookie and 3rd center on our depth chart, Jalen Sundell, so it was a case of the blind leading the blind. It was a very tough situation for both players to have been thrust into.
And even OL have tendencies. Give opponents a couple few games of film on a guard and DL coaches and players will find their weaknesses. The question around Sataoa is whether he can learn and improve as opponents adapt to him. Can he answer their adjustments with some of his own? He's a true rookie in an area where players often take 2-3 years to really develop into their best selves.

I'm not at all optimistic about Laumea. He was a 6th round pick for a reason, so the odds are that he's not going to be part of the long-term solution to our OL problems. We can't afford to waste valuable playing time waiting for that perfect opportunity for him to prove himself. If he doesn't show himself for whatever reason, we move on to the next guy and give him a chance.

All I was saying was that he didn't really get a fair chance to prove himself. But then again, life's not fair.

Olu Oluwatimi looked good for a couple games upon relieving Connor Williams, then faceplanted.

Michael Jerrell looked good for a couple games upon relieving Abraham Lucas, then faceplanted.

Sataoa Laumea looked good for a couple games upon relieving Anthony Bradford, then faceplanted.

Jalen Sundell has looked good for a couple quarters upon relieving Olu Oluwatimi.

If O-line isn't the #1 priority in the offseason (I'm a Schneider supporter) But, if he doesn't focus on it, I'm going to be calling for his job...

And the Vikings D has a ferocious pass rush much superior to the Packers and a much better run D.

That's one possibility. The other possibility is that the horrendous offensive line talent might constrain the options the offensive coordinator has available.

That's why I put this caveat along with what else I said.
who really could say how much better they would be under a different OC/ Oline coach

Pretty early to give up on the kid though.
There's a lot of 6th round draft picks that never get anywhere close to an NFL field on game day, let alone two starts. If he doesn't show some kind of promise very soon, like this Sunday, I say cut him and move on. Next man up!

That’s possible cause we had four first half drives and two were just ended on sacks that were fully on beaten lineman, the first one was the left guard double teamed the end but left the DT unblocked and he had a free shot.
The second one Lamaua got owned
I tried to blame it on geno but it wasn’t him

I’m surprised stone Forsyth has been around so long, he was a 7th

Very few NFL personnel issues get solved this late in the season. Generally issues only become more obvious as teams try to exploit their opponents' weak points. Mediocre, or at best inconsistent, TE & RB blocking adds to the problem.

I'm surprised that Pittsburgh OL is rated so low yet Steelers are running the ball well and winning.
Blame it on Russell running into sacks?

Arthur Smith is able to scheme around that. Plus, the Steelers did pour resources into the OL like the Hawks but it takes time to come together.

A good example is after the 2021 season the Bucs lost Ali Marpet to retirement and Jenkins never recovered from his knee injury. It took three drafts focusing on OL and new coaches to turn around the Bucs OL situation again.

Thats cool, but Cross got blown up a few times, and now leads the league in pressures surrendered. On the other side, Lucas was pushed back into Geno a few times himself.

Those are our two best pass protectors. Both high draft picks. Both thought to be franchise cornerstones, and one leads the league in throwing his qb under the bus.

Are they running ad well as we think? I don’t think Harris or Warren are putting up big numbers? They’re averaging the same yards per carry I just think they’re more committed to it.

agreed. They need to go all in on solving this issue.

It’s a valid point but even though Cross leads the league in this regard I think it’s largely a result of the passing volume. He’s had a few games where he plays really well at least.
