Also says he regrets putting them in that situation, if he could do it over again, he'd have gone for the TD. Perfect hindsight obviously, but Pete has said he wouldn't have changed the decision (to either go for it or take a field goal) in a variety of games in the past, so it seems like he actually thinks he made a mistake on this one regardless of how it ended up turning out. That's the impression I got, anyways.

I like that 90% of the time, Hawknballs, but sometimes I think it has hurt us a little bit. Look at how long it took Giacomini to cut out the penalties. Just a guess, Pete's "nice guy honesty" may not have any factor in that whatsoever, but hey; fans never truly know what's going on, so it's all a guessing game.

I liked his discussing how he came to become more involved in the offensive side of things in those first couple of years at USC. Really sheds some light on his first two NFL head coach jobs, where he was really a glorified DC and had little input on the offense.
